Congrats to Bruce Weber

On a related note, Cuonzo Martin's Cal Bears aren't doing so hot in their NIT first round game vs. CSU-Bakersfield. Wing Jabari Bird and big Ivan Rabb are sitting out with apparent injuries (in Rabb's case, I interpret that as I'm a little banged up but I don't want to play because I'm entering the NBA Draft once the season is over).

Anyway, they're down 49-31 at home (Haas Pavilion) with just under 12 minutes to play. Martin is known for focusing more on (man-to-man) defense than offense with his teams. Right now, it shows. Their offense (even with guards like Charlie Moore and Grant Mullins) does not look good.

In NIT play, 6 of the winning teams in 8 games were the underdogs. I see this every year, where a team complains they were snubbed by the NCAA, and then they lay an egg in their first game in the NIT. What was IU's excuse?

They are upset they didn't make the NCAA tourney. The players are just going through the motions not giving it 110%. For IU though they were just overseeded I'm not even sure they should of made the NIT

Agreed. IU's problem has been mental all year. Even with injuries, they are loaded and should have had one of the best inside-out games in the B1G. But they just didn't play like a team. Based on talent, they should have been a top 2-4 seed in the NCAA. Based on performance, they should have stayed home and let another team play in the NIT.
