A thought ran through my mind today and I did a little digging to see what some of the raw numbers looked like when comparing Hazell's first two seasons through the first 7 games to this season:
2015:
Total Score: 162 - 230 (124 - 216 without ISU)
Total W/L Opponents: 30 - 12 (34 - 14 with ISU)
2014:
Total Score: 188 - 211 (153 - 198 without South Illinois)
Total W/L: 28 - 14 (33 - 16 with Southern Illinois)
2013:
Total Score: 92 - 240 (72 - 226 without ISU)
Total W/L: 31 - 9 (32 - 15 with ISU)
Simply looking at this data, you can see a decline in the program. I'd be interested to take a little deeper of a look at other points such as TO's, Red Zone Efficiency, Red Zone Defense, etc. If anyone would like to dive in those and take a look at the issues through a statistical analysis, I think it would really benefit all to show some real data outside what seems to be the consensus "We look like crap" (of which I TOTALLY agree with). Thought maybe putting some numbers together would help anyone who would like to write a letter to Morgan Burke about the struggles that are apparent in the program. I would do one myself, but it would get thrown away because I can't afford to be in the JPC.
