Ryan Cline [/B]had 21 of Carmel's 39 points as they edged Brebeuf 39-37. He was 7-16 from the floor, 4-4 from the line and had 4 assists and 3 steals.
It was a crazy finish. Cline found Culp in the corner for a 3 with 3.2 seconds left to give Carmel a 3 point lead. They then got called for a foul on a Brebeuf player shooting a 3. Brebeuf's player missed the first, made the 2nd and intentionally missed the 3rd. A Brebeuf player got a hand on it but the tip just missed.
Carmel won the conference outright again and won 20 games for the 4th straight season. In addition Cline was named the IBCA player of the week on Thursday after averaging 26 points and 7 rebounds in wins over Warren Central and Warsaw last week.
Carmel has a bye and will play Friday versus the winner of North Central and Fishers (most likely NC). North Central handed Carmel their first of 2 losses on the season on December 12th. Carmel won the rematch on January 3rd.
