Coaching hires....

Well, the last pieces have fallen into place as far as the replacements to the fired coaches. Despite all the negative posts on the replacement hires, this basically is what posters were reasoning when the firings occurred: Who is going to come here knowing that it will be just for one season?

Hence, the hires are reflective of that. There is a really good chance that this will be DH's last season. Hazell may have already 'checked out' and is already planning on what to do with his buy-out. So getting good replacement hires were really not in the cards, IMO.

What may make things interesting is if this team responds well next season and wins 4,5, even 6 games making them bowl eligible. Then what? Would DH be shown the door? Or will MB defer that decision to his successor as Morgan gets ready to retire?

Just some thoughts.....

I was just thinking the same, can you imagine if we are somehow in a bowl next season?
But soon realized I have a greater chance of winning powerball before then.
Next years games will be soooo painful

What a mess Morgan Burke has created.I hope these are all one year contracts so we don't have more payoffs when Hazell is fired next year.The chances of us having a good year are slim and none.

You may be right, the big ten west is extraordinarily weak.
If we do, I worry it could just drag out the inevitable.
Maybe I'm wrong but just doesn't seem like many players are even behind him that much.
Guess I'm more concerned about the next AD than football coach at the moment.

Just looked at the schedule again, and I think 3-4 games is best case. All of our easier games are on the road in the B1G, and I see us going 1-2 in the non conference.
