Honestly if you gamble and get burned I can live with that. But giving that 8 yard cushion with no pass rush...
You can't learn from this. Purdue kneels and surrenders out there. It was unamerican what happens out there today. It was a group of people who surrendered with the win in hand. Imagine if you win a war defending your country and after you win with 1 minute left you hand the enemy your sword and get on your knees begging them to chop your head off and have their way with you. It's just ungodly. I'm honestly shocked right now. I can only say I wish I was on that team. I'd never let that happen. It's not within me to let that happen. I'm just absolutely shocked right now.
This has to go in the top 10 worst defeats ever. Not the worst but, definitely in the top 10. 2 loses in the last 2 games where you were favored. A 12 point lead in the 4th quarter and you don't win. It is still inexplicable to me to take out DJ Knox after he got you the first down and you are then 1 first down away from victory. Despite any lack of execution issues during the game, the final outcome of this game really has me questioning any reason to be optimistic about Purdue football in the foreseeable future.
the play calling on our last possession was baffling. our "prevent defense" was awful. this loss was due to poor coaching. yes, i know, we dropped a lot of passes but the vanilla offense for the entire first quarter was maddening, play to win , never play not to lose
Thing is these receivers evidently don't realize they are killing the team on these constant dropped passes. Like aren't WR's supposed to catch the ball? If not what are they doing on the team!
I saw this coming again this afternoon. The results were exact opposite for Saints and Bears. I know, more athletic players involved. However, the cushion was nowhere close to what we have given Neb. Our pass defense was not there for some reason.Outlet passes to edges were practically not defended. I don't think Lee was that effective when rushed.
