Chump military parade this Saturday

@RDUBoiler answered a question I put to you with ' y'all....'

Do you think he is trying to act like a 'bro' ?

Btw, you ducked that question, which was: what do you think of Trump's southern border policy?
The vernacular y’all is not limited to “bro’s” as you put it. That vernacular is also popular with the good folks south of the Mason/Dixon line. Similarly with food. Soul food and southern cuisine are pretty much the same.

As far as the border, I’m against paying for a big beautiful wall. I do agree with getting Mexico more involved in helping to curtail immigrants coming in. I don’t like some of the ICE tactics. No warrants for one.

I don’t mind the use ICE to deport folks. It’s the lack of warrants is what have a problem with. If Obama’s ICE did not use warrants then that’s wrong also.
"ICE agents can arrest individuals in public without a warrant if they have probable cause to believe the person is illegally in the country and that the person is likely to leave before a warrant can be obtained."

Said $45 M. Not sure what that includes??
Yeah $45 million plus millions in street repairs after the big beautiful tanks jack up the streets.

I thought this administration was all about getting rid of waste spending. If this parade ain’t waste spending then I don’t know what.

Again, which one of you Flavor Aiders agree with this and going to watch this crap?

That’s fine but what about ICE going into apartments and homes? That’s what they have been doing in n some cases and partly what’s triggering the protests.

.LOL.....Good to hear a BIG Govt $$$ guy has at least something he thinks is a waste of money. Good first step in right direction.

Thought you said they were focusing on criminals? These people were at Home Depot looking for day work.

But they're illegal so they're all criminals right? Then why say you're focusing on the criminals?

And ICE raided food packaging plants in Omaha. What criminals are working there?

The Trump admin said they were focusing on criminals - but not exclusively - which I think is the way to go.

The Home Depot pickups may be a deviation from that policy, and I don't know why unless they were looking for specific criminals. If those people are in the country legally, they have nothing to worry about, other than being exploited and abused by libs who hire them. Same for those at food processing plants, etc.

I think they need a warrant to go into a house. Do you know of cases they broke into houses without a warrant - or are you just assuming that?

I don't think the HD pickups were a deviation from policy.........as deporting any illegal is policy. Any and all of them regardless of circumstance.

I've seen some news about arrests of illegal criminals but knowing the focus and how trump does things, if there were huge numbers of criminals were being arrested they would be splashed all over the news. That could mean ICE is having trouble finding them or there aren't as many as we were lead to believe.
Regardless, Stephen Miller is pissed at the pace of the arrests. He threatening ICE officials with their jobs if they don't ramp it up, demanding 3000 a day. That clearly shows that he's not focused on criminals.

I would bet many criminals are hiding in sanctuary cities, so that IEC does not get cooperation from local police to arrest them because of idiot dem mayors.

If so, what an outrageous and disgusting way to treat the law-abiding citizens in those cities. Don't you agree?

Let us all applaud the arrest of criminals, right Bob?

This is clearly a massive waste of $$ and any fiscal conservative knows this. And if the government's own estimate is $45 MILLION, then it will probably cost at least $60 MILLION. All just monopoly money to the fake conservatives though.
Let's not forget the tens of thousands of man-hours wasted in planning, travel and other logistical time.

Just one more general comment -you know when a thread has hit a raw nerve when posters constantly try to deflect it off track.

What is the raw nerve in this thread?

What’s the difference between illegal and criminal?
Isn’t an illegal, by account of breaking our immigration laws, a criminal?

Don't freaking go there. If you read the thread Or paid attention to what the administration has been saying, you would know what I'm talking about.

it has been estimated that there are around 20 million criminals, but not all are immediate threats to the security and safety of the country and its citizens. I don't think most of the 20 million are the focus, but that doesn't mean others if easily found by ICE cannot be deported at our expense created by Biden and those that voted for Biden

It has been estimated to be 20 million by who? Not even the most hawkish organizations are saying that number and exaggerate for a fact, but it just makes you seem less credible.

You will no doubt be surprised to learn that gov figures on the number of people who have come into the country illegally or stayed illegally are not highly accurate.

Here is an estimate from 2018, before your hero opened the border.

Bob, the parade is a nothingburger. You know, like the H*U*G*E problems with the gift AF1 aircraft? Or Hegseth's End Of Days text messages about the Houthis strikes? This time next week, you'll never hear another word about it.

So are you going to watch this parade or not?
I do not intend to watch the parade. I love and respect the men & women of the US Army and like most, I'm proud of their many accomplishments and admire their sacrifice. But I think everybody understands that this $60 MILLION parade is a 90minute ego trip for Trump. He wanted a military parade during his first term but (sensible minds probably) either talked him out of it or simply distracted him with a shiny object.
I also don't want to see anyone injured protesting. I think everyone knows that the protests will be intended toward Trump personally and not to the army, but this has the potential to get out of hand.

Did you support the Chump/DOGE policy of cutting waste and spending?

I tend to agree with you. However, after the abuse of the military by Biden for four years - Afgan debacle, DEI, etc - a parade might serve as a public reset of sorts for the military and the nation.
