I thought if you hit the ball first and your follow through and hit the hand it was a no call. Now if you hit the hand without hitting the ball, either before the ball was released or after, it is a foul.

This was my understanding as well. Furthermore, if you body a player at any time that is a foul regardless of what happens near the ball.

Coaches can be fined for post game comments? Has this happened in the last decade? If so I missed it.
maybe not in the last decade, but I think Gene got a $10,000 fine after the Texas game in the NCAA

I haven't kept up with the specific wording. It looks like Haarms blocked the shot and then got the hand after....

It was a good block. Lindsey tried to shoot a jump shot over 7.3 guy and got it blocked. Collins spent too much time in Cameron Indoor getting calls Duke didn't deserve. Wonder what Collins would have to say about Greyson Allen?

IMO He has nothing to complain about. That was a flagrant 1 on CE. Purdue should have had free throws and the ball. Instead NW got the ball out of bounds.
NW was fortunate to hit all those 12-15 footers or it would have been a blow out.

He would say he was "misunderstood" I imagine... ;)

Honestly, this doesn't bother me much, but it does make me scratch my head. We all know he should be more mature about it, but let's face it, these guys are highly competitive, and it's really tough to lose games, especially close ones that could have atoned for some majorly disappointing early losses. As a former coach, I didn't always behave like I should have after losses. Granted, he makes the big bucks, but still...I understand how he feels.

The weird part is the fact that he's simply making things up. That's frankly pretty short-sighted and childish. Like saying your older brother gave you a broken arm when you're not even wearing a cast. Something that easily disproved (the stitches) makes you look really, really bad.

Went back through the game. Haas did give him one good elbow, but it was below the neck. He was never bleeding and didn't need stitches. Collins is either delusional or a liar on this one.
Haas drop stepped him and finished the turn with a hard shot to the ribs just under the arm pit. You could see his body jolt from the hit. Nicely done.

Watching it in extra slow-mo, it looked like while Pardon was hacking down with both arms, Haas' head collided with Pardon's mouth. I'll bet if you interviewed both players, that's what they will say happened. Pardon was checking to see if a tooth was loose. No blood.

That was the “ball in face” play. I have always liked to rake the ball right up in front of the defenders face in the post. Thier hands are up. Most people will instinctively pull their head back so they are not jumping (try to jump without leaning forward first). And you now have the ball strong in two hands going up over their head between their arms. A slight movement of the ball to the side as you power through the contact and it’s “and one” time. The drawing blood was just collateral damage that upset Chrissy’s delicate nature.;)

Even we "girls" know that's true. Think I should try to write and explain that concept to him???:D
