Chris Kramer's comments on the last 3 Games

I mean it's basic stuff. Work together, accountability, don't foul, don't complain to the refs, have joy, etc.

I don't know that I agree it's simply those issues we are struggling with. Do I know exactly what they are? No. Do I think it's just those things? Also no.

Some of it is schematic, some of it is confidence, some of it I think is fatigue, and some of it is missing elements.

I like the team meeting with only the players. They haven’t been slapping hands after plays and during fouls shots like they normally do. There is no joy in their play and they don’t look to be connected at all lately.

Having said that, I see them completely dismantling IU Sunday.

Meaning they had one?

Or you want them to have one?

Team meetings strike me as more for systemic long term problems. This has been a bad week off the cusp of a long string of success.
I agree. Sounds like an overreaction similar to how some of our fans have been. Purdue faced 3 really good teams and lost. It happens. Now if these losses were to Rutgers, PSU and NW, I'd be calling for a team meeting or something drastic like that.

If these players have higher expectations then what they are currently getting then absolutely they should call that team meeting! I think they do and something should happen behind closed doors like that. They have a good team and some guys that care about it so i personally would love it. Now if you're IU or some other cellar team then you are who you are i guess but this team could beat all those teams and i hope we see all them in the big 10 tourney.

We rarely agree so no I don't think it's an overreaction, I just don't think the solution is the cure in this case.

There are changes that need to be made whether that's adjusting minutes to relieve fatigue or schematic tweaks to get some players more looks or whatnot.

What I don't think it is, is the kind of personal issues or locker room air clearing that you typically think of with a team meeting. I don't think it's an issue with folks not understanding the culture. Team is literally built on culture.

Longer term, IMO, this is still a team in transition from the way they played last season. Edey covers a lot of issues. No Edey means you probably need additional help to cover those same issues. Part of that was lost with Jacobsen, but some of it is still probably out there whether it's portal or recruits or both, but that's not something that pertains to this season.

So no I don't think the sky is falling and the team sucks, but no I also don't think ah well we just played some good teams, stuff happens. I don't think the team thinks that either.

Dismantling? Eh. Winning? Sure. IU is certainly the weakest of this four game stretch. But they almost beat us at home when we were riding high so they certainly are capable of doing it at home when we aren't.

I suspect it's a game of runs, which isn't deep insight since most basketball games are, but who wins? Dunno. Obviously, I hope we win, leave the building, and then a meteor strike hits (no fatalities of course).

I like what Chris laid out. I think they need to look at the tape from our home win against Michigan and figure out where all the confidence and joy went. I believe that was our best game of the year to date. Our schedule for the last 8 games or so of the season sure isn't easy. We need to be realistic and keep our wits about us. Don't let the hardship and losses break us.
