Purdue had its conditioning test last Thursday, indicating the end of its summer strength and conditioning program. I sat down with director of sports performance Duane Carlisle later that day, after he and his staff gave a presentation about the program to Purdue's football coaches.
Carlisle isn't big on giving individual numbers — I was surprised he told me how much Patterson weighed — but he did provide some general ones from the summer. Hard to say relationally what the numbers mean — don't have comparison from previous years — but, percentage-wise, more than half the team set PRs in bench, squat and power clean.
