interesting question...I have no idea. We know that Carl jr. is alive (brother) and that 50 was Biggie's father's age when he died. Eugene Parker wore number 11 and I think Rosie was number 44. If anyone takes this on and finds an answer, please post it. I think I stumbled upon 35 as a plausible thought to the number of games that needed to be played to win the whole thing...but haven't done the math and if so...how do I reconcile that with RIP 35?I noticed the tape on Caleb Swanigan's wrist the last couple games had R.I.P. #35 who is that a tribute to.

I'm thinking in the promotion for NPOY it catches a glimpse of his wristbandI thought it said #5. If so there is a girl ball player in the Fort that was killed in a auto accident during the season. Her number was 5 and several schools paid tribute to her.
remember his death...didn't know his number. I'm thinking they played against each other in the IHSAA tourney. Purdue had a little interest in Steve as well. Great catch...thanks!It is for Steve McElvene - he played at Dayton and was from Ft. Wayne. He was a friend of Biggies. He died last year of the same heart disorder that Jay Simpson was diagnosed with
