I don't know if anyone saw this or not, but I guess, as of yesterday, we are still absolutely in the running for "Biggie." I actually first saw this in an article I was reading about Duke talking about how much they want him, coincidentally enough. That article, if anyone cares is : http://dukereport.com/duke-recruiting/duke-basketball-who-else-wants-2015-5-star-caleb-swanigan/daldridge/?utm_source=taboola&utm_medium=referral
Anyway, thought this was worth sharing!

As long as we're on the list, we got a chance. Looks like all the predictions are MSU. I hope that's wrong too, if we don't get him, I hope he goes to Cal...that's California

Out of all the good ones we have lost to Michigan St, Stanford, Xavier, etc. I really feel this is the one we will get. Just a gut feeling . Hope I'm right.

The word in Southwest Allen County (Ft Wayne) is that the pecking order is...

1) Duke
2) AZ
3) UK
4) Purdue and MSU virtual tie

Wish it wasn't so, but this is the consistent order that Caleb's buddies have been telling people in the Aboite area

I think MSU already is bringing in a hot-shot big man from a Michigan High School. I can see him stepping in behind a departing Dawson. Swanigan would play with this kid, if so, MSU would have a tough and young front line. My bet is MSU too.

Is Caleb more of a half court one or uptempo. If he likes uptempo then Purdue probably won't appeal to him but if he wants a grind it out style with Haas setting picks for him Purdue would be perfect.

Bill4411 I believe he's more of your 'classic' big man. From what I've read/heard/watched, he's a wide-bodied kid who dominates with strength and skill down low. Zach Randolph is the guy who comes to mind for me, in terms of a comparison.

Deyonta Davis, rated as a 5*.

Swanigan a wayyyyy better shooter from 12' and beyond (all the way to the 3 pt line) than Randolph was at this point in his development. Also, in my opinion, Swanigan way more intelligent player and person than Randolph.

Actually pairing Swanigan with Haas would be just as intimidating as the MSU pair. Furthermore, he just might learn more about the subtleties of the game from Painter, who I think does more with the talent he gets than Izzo.

I was too young to remember Randolph at Michigan State, so my comparison was just to him as a player now. Regarding Randolph's intelligence, I obviously wouldn't know much about him as a person, but he seems like a pretty intelligent player. An NBA all-star who plays below the rim...that takes a unique skillset and a certain level of basketball intelligence to pull off, in my opinion, but I see what you're saying.
