Can you name one other top 20 school where a potential starter/off the bench player is pre-med? I'm sure there's a couple, but not many.

Didn't Aaron Craft do this back in the day? There are very few. Most athletes just go the basic sports management, business or something similar.

Pretty sure Caleb is a guy you'd like your daughter to marry. Honest, straight shooter, hard working.
I remember a couple of hoopsters in the engineering program too.

Not basketball, but in the 90's Robert Smith was pre-med and actually quit football and ran track only because the football coaches wouldnt give him enough time to study and they put pressure on him to switch to an easier major.

My daughter is 20 and a junior in the Honors college here at U of Arizona studying Molecular Cellular Biology. They would make a good couple outside my daughter being 5'1, lol

I don't see Painter pulling something like that. It would make for a really bad look and I think he's just a good dude.

I dont either, 90's had allot less transparency well before NIL.

A co-worker who is a big sports fan and Marquette grad in the early 80's (but his best friend is a Purdue alumni) and I were talking about the game. I asked about their size and he said there only big man is a stiff. He went to the final 4 with his friend here in Phoenix and so follows Purdue. I said our big men are by committee. He really likes TKR, and I mentioned center is by committee. I brought up Furst, saying I liked him as a freshman, former Mr Basketball, but just one of those guys that didnt really improve and he is 3rd in the rotation after an injury.

Anyways I said Furst is a senior and honestly he is typically the type that transfers for his senior year to help prepare for a career in Europe so he can get more playing time. I wonder why he stayed. Thanks to the OP, I know now, for an education.

Actually its refreshing to see someone stay for he degree and value the Purdue education. Its one of the things I love about our program.

Funny you say that. My daughter is 5'10 and in grad school and the other night while watching the game, I mentioned Caleb was Pre-med and my wife was like "Oooh, he'd be perfect for Mya (our daughter)." I had to break it to her that he was engaged to a volleyball player.

We have a lot of basketball and football players getting engaged to or marrying volleyball players. Jaden Ivey and Aidan O'Connell being the top two. Purdue sports in 20-30 are going to be incredible with their kids plus the next generation of Anthrops/Thienemans.
