I like the wrinkle Brohm put in with Burton. Anyone think we'll be seeing a lot more of him, especially in the redzone? I have no idea if he can throw or not, but assuming he is not atrocious, he could really open up some things for us.

If his passing was as good or better than O'Connell, we'd have seen more of him. I suspect he might be moved in/out as packages change.
  • O'Connell is the passer - cannot take 10+ yard sacks. Either step up in the pocket or throw it to the stands after 2.5 seconds.
  • Burton - gets more Wildcat options. Would be interesting to see new wrinkles.
  • What happens to Plummer and Alaimo in the depth chart?
The QB situation will hopefully be more set from Iowa on out till the end of season for stability sake assuming no injuries.

Oh boy

I watched part of his YouTube video against osu. Didnt throw the ball down field really. A lot of 5 yard passes. But he did show the ability to run and escape pressure.

He is a D1 quarterback. He can throw the ball as far as you need to throw it in the red zone. The problem right now is that throwing to the end zone is closed for business anyway because the defense doesn't have to respect the run. We have 2 rushing touchdowns and 1 was out of wildcat formation where we had an extra blocker.

Didnt Horvath score out of the Wildcat vs.Oregon State?Maybe this shows how much they miss him in the Red Zone.

Why not give him chance he might be an answer since the other 2 have failed to be a threat for other coaches!

He has to show some ability to actually throw the football...every DC in college football other than the guy Purdue had a year ago will stack the line until he does...I am not sure that "insert Burton, Burton runs" is necessarily a package.

I would assume there are some pass options in his package.
