BTT: Purdue v. Michigan State Game Thread

No excuse for AJ to not touch it on the last two possessions. Costello with 4 fouls? Geez.

I agree with the announcers, just disappointing what Purdue was trying to do there at the end , inexplicable.

"Every cuss word in the book"
Glad the guys fought back. Showed some nuts.
MSU just made a few more plays in crunch time.

Some very bad decisions in this game by our players. Swanigan has got to stop shooting 3s like this (his first two were equally bad decisions). Johnny Hill - I don't know what he was doing. Unless he thought there was less time left (which makes no sense).

Hammons really did not have a good game.

Overall, a frustrating game but against a very good opponent. This should re-focus the team on the issues that plague this team.

Great day with turnovers - but got out rebounded by 10.

Not having a high quality point guard was the difference today. You have to have someone that can get the ball in the correct hands in the correct spots to win at a high level. Period. Come on Carson!

Wtf are you talking about? Hill was huge in the last 10 minutes.
That was the right play. Lane was open, he didn't get off the floor well and gave Costello a chance for the block.

Not having a TO hurt as well......gotta like the effort in the second half though. This game looked over with about 16 minutes left.

Not so much that. More of someone who can break down the D and create a shot or a good look for a teammate like Valentine did.

I don't know about that. Our entire team has made bad decisions facing critical situations over time this year. Nothing to do with one player. I don't think they were expecting Swanigan to jack a 3 when passing the ball to him on the perimeter.

Nice comeback, but we need to step up and win a big game like this for once. Not having another timeout at the end hurt too. Would like for Coach being able to settle them down and not have 1st year players try to be heroes. Great game to watch. Hard to lose. Hate Sparty. Would be great to get one more shot at them.

Solid game but needed a little more than that today. Overall no complaints about officiating or Izzo whining. Still don't care for msu but played just a little better. Guys did Purdue proud.

Purdue doesn't have a chance to win that game without J Hill's effort. JMO.

Unfortunate that Purdue didn't get better looks in that last minute.....sometimes that's the way the ball bounces.

We had a puncher's chance at the end. Sparty played very well. Give credit where credit is due. We played well. Yes, we have played better, but this is the game we played. Congratulations to MSU. Let's get ready for the NCAA's.

That is exactly what I meant by having a high quality PG that gets the ball in the right player's hands at the right time.

The first half really bit us in the butt. A lot of bad shots all over the place. Swanigan took two 3s, Hammons was getting the ball in not great positions and forced shots instead of passing it back out (Swanigan did this too), etc. We left some points on free throws early on, but recovered in the second half. I do think AJ was tired and faced a very smart MSU defense. But still, would be nice to see Hammons dominate guys who may have experience, but he's more talented than.

MSU out rebounded us by 10 - which is where this game was probably lost in the long run.

Learn from it and move on. MSU is a #1 seed - we can play with anybody. We just have to stay focused.

Kinda like Trimble? HE DIDN'T get it done vs the #2 team either.

They were allowed to take us out of our game in the 1st half and it carried into the 2nd. By then we could not find it within to overcome it. Sucks bad. Time to move forward and win the next game.
