BTN B1G Prediction for '15-'16...

1. Terps
2. Sparty
3. PURDUE
4. Wiscobiscuits
5. Cream & Alcoholics

My take away;

Looks like everybody knows what's up...PUR > IU (per usual).
I'm nit sold on the Teros until I see how they play as a team. I give the nod to the Spartans initially.

I would imagine it's going to be a chainsaw season for many teams surviving the B1G. My only hope is that we are one of the teams doing the damage and not one of the teams that end up being sawdust.

We need to beat Maryland twice to get back our winning record against all Big Ten schools*.

Other than that, I almost don't even care about the Big Ten at this point. We've added so many teams that it just isn't the same, to me. Just get to a Final Four, for a change, that's all I want (oh, and a million dollars, too ;) ).

* = if you count OSU's "vacated" wins, they have a slight edge on us, as well.

Aren't we down a couple of games to OSU now?

Yes, they do. However, they "vacated" several of those wins, but Purdue still counts them (I think). Which means, according to OSU, we have a slight edge, according to Purdue, OSU has a slight edge. I can live with the "split decision" until we get an edge against Maryland (no easy task).

With so many teams, the regular season finishing order is pretty meaningless. How can you compare teams that don't play anywhere close to the same schedule?

Bingo, that stat was really only relevant when each team had a travel partner and everyone played home and home. At least to me.

That's how I expect it to finish. Unless the C&As (cracked me up) implode can't win a road game.

Of course the peegies will claim our higher finish doesn't count because we didn't play against ourselves twice.

I think Purdue finishes ahead of MSU. MD. Is somewhat of a mystery to me. I'll need to see them play early before a pencil them in as champions. And Wiscy? Well they lost to Rutgers without their star that has now graduated. IU will again struggle on the road. I really like Purdue's chances.

Purdue will be competing for the league title this year which will translate to a high seed in the tourney.
