Great to see him at the highest level! While it was good to see he got props, wish they would have said something about Purdue, if he had gone to ND cris and al would have mentioned it three times.
Four catches. Holy cow, this is incredible!Three catches. He's gotten more catches tonight than he did all season. Hopefully this will open up more opportunities for him. Also had a great block on that fourth down run.
He played a key role in the second halfHe got a ring at least and played a huge role on that last drive. Good for him.
mentioned LSU alotGreat to see him at the highest level! While it was good to see he got props, wish they would have said something about Purdue, if he had gone to ND cris and al would have mentioned it three times.
Definitely mentioned Skowrenek was from ND even though he spent most of college years at Northwestern. Never mentioned Hopkins alma mater despite ample opportunities over 4 big catches.Great to see him at the highest level! Never heard of Brad Hopkins? Blocked for Eddie George for a decade.Did I hear the announcers say his dad played in the 1999 super bowl? Pretty cool if true.
No I did I just hadn’t put two and two together that they both played in a super bowl. Forgot about the 99 titans.Never heard of Brad Hopkins? Blocked for Eddie George for a decade.
That team was fun to watch. Physical offense and tough defense. No I did I just hadn’t put two and two together that they both played in a super bowl. Forgot about the 99 titans.
He lined up outside on quite a few occasions. I dont watch the Rams, but I'm assuming they do that regularly with their tight ends.4 catches 47 yards and 3rd on the receivers list in performance. As someone else said in previous response, he may have saved his career with that game. It was clutch when they needed it.
I was rooting for the Bengals, but happy for Brycen.
Other thought was he playing WR in some alignments? I only noticed 1 replay catch and he was an outside receiver. Was wondering if that was planned or in game adjustment of Sean Mcvay to use him like that?
saw his sister goes to U of Tenn, they must have had some interesting banter during and after the bowl game. Glad to see him do well in the game he was always one of my faves during his time at Purdue. I'm always interested in our recruits that have a great pedigree. He lined up outside on quite a few occasions. I dont watch the Rams, but I'm assuming they do that regularly with their tight ends.

I call that IF'N disease. If'n this didn't happen or If'n this did happen, we would have won. I've had my share of bouts with it.Some Tennessee Titan/Volunteer fans still think Kevin Dyson scored on that last play and the whistle was blown before forward motion stopped

Those Titans teams were a blast. Since my NFL team is hopeless, I really wanted them to get a ring. That team was fun to watch. Physical offense and tough defense.
Hey - that sounds like what the Colts are supposed to be.That team was fun to watch. Physical offense and tough defense.
Titans had a better qb. Plus football was different back thenHey - that sounds like what the Colts are supposed to be.
@chrisballardPlus football was different back then
I don't think he was utilized at a pass catcher nearly enough at Purdue.saw his sister goes to U of Tenn, they must have had some interesting banter during and after the bowl game. Nojel should have been a TE.I'd still love to see Mason Gillis run some routes and see what kind of hands he has on the football field.

He was the top receiving tight end in the Big Ten his senior year. More receptions than Bateman, Olave, and Hendershot. Not bad usage for a guy who was sharing targets with David Bell, and for part of the season, Rondale Moore.I don't think he was utilized at a pass catcher nearly enough at Purdue.
Durham took some redzone targets that year. Hopkins wasnt a great blocker and they pulled him sometimes in the redzone. Dont blame them.He was the top receiving tight end in the Big Ten his senior year. More receptions than Bateman, Olave, and Hendershot. Kind of ironic that a kid whose dad was a Pro Bowl left tackle is known as a weak blocking tight end.Durham took some redzone targets that year. Hopkins wasnt a great blocker and they pulled him sometimes in the redzone. Dont blame them.
Yep. In his defense, he didnt play football until his senior year of HS.Kind of ironic that a kid whose dad was a Pro Bowl left tackle is known as a weak blocking tight end.
It seemed like Hopkins started every game dropping his first pass. But otherwise was a good receiving TE, I thought we utilized him well for that.Durham took some redzone targets that year. Hopkins wasnt a great blocker and they pulled him sometimes in the redzone. Dont blame them.
He fought a couple catches in the super bowl too. Gotta be thinking too much.It seemed like Hopkins started every game dropping his first pass. But otherwise was a good receiving TE, I thought we utilized him well for that.
Oh wow, didn’t know that.Yep. In his defense, he didnt play football until his senior year of HS.
Yup. The ole Hopkins courtesy drop.It seemed like Hopkins started every game dropping his first pass. But otherwise was a good receiving TE, I thought we utilized him well for that.
Thanks for the correction, I didn't realize that. I'll issue a retraction: Brycen was used effectively as a TE in the passing game.He was the top receiving tight end in the Big Ten his senior year. More receptions than Bateman, Olave, and Hendershot. Not bad usage for a guy who was sharing targets with David Bell, and for part of the season, Rondale Moore.
