Bryce Austin

I won’t name names, but there’s a player on our roster this applies to 100%. If he doesn’t play this year he’s either not motivated or he’s not good and the ranking was never accurate to begin. He looks like an all world player BTW. Notice I said looks….
You talking about Anderson?

Bell and Karlaftis were both top 150.

Milton Wright another top 200 guy I believe.

I think Faucheaux and a DE from that class were top 250 guys as well.

But yes…we have a Transfer who was a top 250 guy coming out of high school.
Bell, Karlaftis, and Wright were the only top 250, I forgot about Wright and the first two are outta here after a highly successful year. Weight works extremely hard per brohm.
I know who you are talking about regarding the transfer and I think it is a mischaracterization to suggest he never needed to try all that hard and now is struggling. To be on the position he was in before he got injured surely required tremendous dedication to the game whether it was lifting weights or practicing. Maybe it’s not as hard as a guy like horvath practiced but probably more of an effort than anyone on this board ever put in.

Actually I shouldn’t say I know for sure but I suppose he could.

In August brohm reported Sampson James works hard and Penix said he works extremely hard when he pulled himself out of the portal a year or so ago so I really hope he’s not spreading misinformation about him.

anderson was said to give a lot of effort in scouting report and past coaches so again I’m note sure why he would suggest this if he were talking about anderson.

he’s probably not saying names because he doesn’t know if it’s really true and just speculating.

also, being cocky or even getting frustrated at the higher level of competition of P5 football is very different than not working hard.

I used to do a lot of evaluations and coaching of baseball players.

There were some kids who look great in the uniform, but either didn't have the motivation/drive, or IQ, or overall ability to execute. There was one kid in particular who looked fantastic... fast, threw hard, hit the hell out of the ball in BP, but had no ability to execute. After leaving the youth league, he bounced from high-profile travel team to high-profile travel baseball program.
