Bruce Brown

Guessing that is why Painter flew there yesterday.
matt has never appeared to be one to beg a player to come to Purdue. My guess is an issue made it difficult for him to make it to Purdue this weekend and Matt wanted to see him adn still recruit. If Matt thought the door was closed, I don't think he would try to open it...but that is all conjecture on my part....

Or he went there to see if he was serious about coming to Purdue before we waste one of our official visits. Probably a little of both.

Each player can take 5 I understand. however, a University can allow whatever the budget allows I think. What budget would Matt's trip be covered?

Brown is one hard kid to figure out. At one point, IU was out front and then rumors of Umass and Miami surfaced, then on again/off again visit to Purdue, which for now is going to happen, but you never know with this kid. I get the feeling that he believes he can do better than what he currently has available and may wait until Spring to see if there is any UNC, UK, KU type interest.

Or, he could enjoy his Purdue visit and commit on the spot. Nothing would surprise me with him at this point.

We have a limited number of official visits each year, per NCAA rules.

Link? Because as I understand it a big part of Matt's salary negotiations were more money for recruiting trips. I think we have seen the benefits of this.

Not saying you are wrong, just want to know where you got the info

Don't have a link but per various recruiting sites on the web, Division I Basketball schools appear to be limited to 12 "official" visits per year (August 1 - July 31) to be split between juniors and seniors. Juniors can take official visits starting January 1 of their junior year.

Painter may visit but even those are limited by rule. But having a kid on an official visit to the school is limited to the 12 referenced above.
