Anyone hear him talk about how he thinks he might be closing on one of the top special teams guys in the country for the coaching staff?

I enjoyed listening to his interview on Dakich and JMV. Brohm seems like a very humble guy. I like when he said that he doesn't like to move around a lot.

Let's hope he stays around for awhile and Louisville job doesn't open up anytime soon. Once it does He gone.

Not necessarily. If he has Purdue up and running, it might be a tough call to make. If he doesn't, they may look elsewhere.

I don't know? I think he would go to Louisville. I am sure he liked Purdue because Indy is a border state to Ky. He could drive home on the weekend to see family if we wants.

Also, did you catch were Dakich called out Kravitz on Monday for his tweet about Fleck going to Purdue? Dakich said that he is tired of the media being wrong on this stuff and not apologizing for it.

Hell, who knows. Maybe Jeff eventually goes home and his brother takes over for us. We create some kind of Boiler/Cardinal coaching tree. Let's worry about the next couple of years and enjoy the ride.

Krav admitted he was wrong a couple times and it was so glorious. ahhh :)
Yeap were as Dakitch never admits he's wrong, instead he just insists that people misunderstood him. I do not and will not listen to him, I'm sure From will be on with someone more respectable at some point and will catch what he says then. I will not support that troll Dakitch with a minute of my time.

I think everyone is getting lost in the current state of each program. If Purdue gets up and running, Purdue is the better job. We could afford to match whatever Louisville offers.

You can't account for the fact that Louisville is his alma mater though so that's why it will always be in the back of our minds. There's also the possibility that maybe Jeff would go to Louisville and Brian would stay behind or vice versa?

The only reason why I don't get annoyed with Dan is IU fans hate whenever he opens his mouth more than anyone else.

Kravitz tends to get the big stories wrong. Pretends to have sources but doesn't put in the time or effort to get them right. He thought Swanigan was going to enter the draft, too. Loves to pretend to be in the know and has gotten away with it.

If he once turned down opportunity to be OC on Saban staff at Bama to stay in Lville, he will definitely jump ship if head job becomes available. Let's just hope it is many years down the road.

Purdue might be able to match anything UL could pay, doubt they can match anything Papa John will offer.

I think we should pump the breaks on the idea that Brian might stay behind. Guy has been a coach what like one year?

And in the hypothetical that Louisville is trying to hire Jeff Brohm in the future how much experience will he have?

It does point out how silly it is to worry about it at this point because none of us can project the circumstances surrounding that hypothetical situation.

Petrino is only 55 and his contract runs through 2023. Louisville is P5 now, and he has tried the NFL thing. Seems like that job is pretty stable for awhile.

Agree but if he bails for Louisville I see no way in which we aren't winning at a decent clip. I think it will be hard to replace a coach that is his own OC and calls his own plays and created the system he runs with a staffer. We'll be in a solid position to hire another decent coach with his own system and ideas.

The thing is Louisville was ripped to shreds for taking him back if you remember correctly. As shady and slimy as Petrino is, a guy like that has to be grateful for the opportunity that a place he left high and dry took him back with his past. He has built a place he once built up before...back to being a top flight program and appearing to be the next Oregon style team looking to sustain their success. Pertrino, with success, will likely get a statue of himself outside of Papa John's Stadium and might have the field named after him if he can take them to the CFP.

Not mentioned anywhere in that article, but the special teams coach Brohm is referring to could be John L Smith. It's a Louisville connection. JLS was HC at Louisville in between the Jeff and Brian playing days. Left for Mich state, didn't work. Was later on staff with Petrino at Arkansas as special teams coach. Is now HC at Ky state.

He was always a special teams genius. Was a good HC at smaller programs, but not good enough for a P-5 (which Louisville wasn't at the time). He got his shot at MSU and failed, and was named interim at Arkansas after Petrino was fired. Failed there also.

BUT....... At each one of those jobs, special teams play was always outstanding. Don't be surprised if he's the one. And if so, he's a great hire for it.

John L Smith is 68 years old. Doubtful Brohm is hiring him.
