Brohm misses another top OL

We have four commits who, collectively, have a grand total of four P5 offers other than Purdue: Kentucky, Virginia, Syracuse and Syracuse. None had any other B1G offers.

Step away from the ledge.

Offensive lineman are difficult to rank while in high school. Purdue will only very rarely be in the running for a top o-line prospect. Go back and look at the Tiller o-line recruits.

It’s a good get by IU. IU had a good year and will see a recruiting bump from it. Hell Brohm did the same thing off of 7 and 6 win seasons. Had a top 25 class followed by a top 35 class I believe. Hopefully we will see the fruits of those classes the next couple years.

Lets see what happens the next couple of years before we hop back on that ledge.

This is the correct take. IU has a good class because they had a good year, however fortunate you think they were last season. This was definitely a recruiting miss, but it doesn't mean this is the end of the program, we're going to land a couple good recruits and miss on a couple more.

The wrong take is to say that these high schoolers aren't that good or deserving of their ranking, or suggest that Purdue backed off a top-500 in-state player. To me, IU still has to prove themselves because a couple solid years doesn't turn you into a powerhouse, but they are definitely beating us in recruiting this year.

I think it's funny that recruiting failures make everyone on here angry with IU when IMO the blame should be focused on Brohm and the staff. Equally funny that IU fans come running over here to talk about their success. Whether they're looking for validation or just trying to brag, this is a Purdue board and we'll be talking trash about them even if they win the national championship

I can still recall the day that I popped over to the IU Open Football Forum and let them know what a prized WR they missed out on when Rondale signed with the Boilers.....NOT!

According to the internet. It also says DJ moore had an Oregon offer. Guess what... he didn't have one.

Yeap, huge loss.

3 star interior lineman from a running team

He was so dominant that amassed an impressive 242 yards for the entire season running behind such a dominant offensive lineman.

They passed for 73 yards all season.

Are you saying FW Snider only gained 315 yards all season? I know they weren't up to Snider's standards by a long shot in the W-L column, but I think your stats might off. That or there were a whole lot of defensive & return TDs.

That's what I saw on Maxpreps. I just did a quick search and didn't make sense, but games played and all of that were right.

Click into the box scores and almost all of them say "Fort Wayne Snider has not entered stats for this game."

Why are people trying to reason with this idiot?

He had a couple of minutes on his break from Wendy's or McDonald's, and he came over to our board to try to stir the pot.

We are fine with OL. I would be a little more upset, if this was Strickland. That is lineman that I want us to get, even though he is on the other side of the line.

There was a lot more to this story. We got all of the juicy details on the membership side. Not as concerned after what I have read. Initially it would've hurt for sure based on the "original offer list".
This. His major offers were from May 2020. Crazy people are basing our 2022 recruiting success on July 2021 offer list / stars. These kids haven’t played for nearly a year and are just now starting to go through summer camps. There will be a lot of change the next month or so in terms of offers and there will be a lot of change after the fall season in rankings. Some of these offers are based on pre-2021. The one that gets me is Omar Cooper... tore his ACL in the fall and has MAC offers since then and said in his press conference Indiana stuck with him... and everyone still is latching to his 4 star ranking and pre injury announced offers.

But... he's REASONABLE...

How every B1G offensive line ranked according to Pro Football Focus

The 2019 college football season is over the B1G, with the final game being played on January 2. And with almost everyone else’s season completed, Pro Football Focus has taken on the task of grading all 130 FBS offensive lines from the 2019 season.
Offensive line play was a strength for a lot of B1G teams this season, particularly at places like Ohio State and Wisconsin, both teams that ran the ball extremely well in the 2019 campaign. But which teams played the best and which struggled the most in the trenches?

PFF has the answer. Six B1G teams ranked inside the top 20, with three coming in the top 10, as well. Four teams struggled up front, ranking No. 100 or lower.

The formula incorporated the grades for each offensive lineman who played a majority of the snaps, a team’s rotation at each position, strength of schedule, and number of positive and negative plays, as graded by PFF.
Here’s where all 14 B1G teams ranked:
  • No. 4: Ohio State Buckeyes
  • No. 6: Iowa Hawkeyes
  • No. 8: Wisconsin Badgers
  • No. 11: Illinois Fighting Illini
  • No. 14: Penn State Nittany Lions
  • No. 16: Michigan Wolverines
  • No. 45: Minnesota Golden Gophers
  • No. 47: Northwestern Wildcats
  • No. 87: Indiana Hoosiers
  • No. 93: Nebraska Cornhuskers
  • No. 110: Rutgers Scarlet Knights
  • No. 114: Michigan State Spartans
  • No. 115: Purdue Boilermakers
  • No. 118: Maryland Terrapins
You can see where all 130 FBS teams rank here.

2019? Really? Plagued by injuries and playing kids who had no business playing in big ten as freshmen. Last year we were much improved and this year probably more so.

Possibly ranked based on potential?

Remember Trouble Williams... The wide receiver that was highly ranked that was down to supposedly IU and Purdue....

Purdue backed off and he picked IU. It was known Purdue backed off and was stated as such by many here and IU fans poked fun.

How'd that turn out Hoosiers.... There is a lot more to the story with a lot of these guys and football. Rankings can be a total crapshoot. Much more than basketball.

Purdue is used to this because we've gotten a number of four stars or highly ranked players that last 20 years or so where the bigger programs backed off for a reason. The said player either ended up kicked off the team or a career scrub.

Purdue and a number of schools backed off here but was more of a fit issue it sounds like rather than attitude or anything like that. So could be a good get for IU.

Dis him if you wish but I'd take Demon Moore over any of the four OL we've recruited this year.

It must be tough for Purdue fans to watch Indiana pass them up on the football field and then kick ass in recruiting after all that early recruiting success with Brohm.
I haven’t seen IU pass Purdue in football yet? What normal year are you referring to? Is this recruiting year over and we won’t really know if your statement is accurate until year end. IU won’t win 5 games this year. Possibly not even 4.

Kick ass in recruiting? Look at the rosters you had one decent class after 4 years of garbage and some washed up SEC transfers, any success on the field will not be based on recruiting.

One guy comes over to your board and you act like it was the entire fan base. Do you know how many PU fans live in the IU boards?

Have you looked at how well IU is recruiting at WR? IU won’t miss him at all
