verbally committed over the weekend, if he's related to Paul Beery, who played for us in the late 70's , that's another legacy guy we couldn't get.

Hes related. Purdue never offered.
thanks Nat, Paul Beery was in 2 classes that I was in , believe he was from Bishop Luers.

I wouldn't say "couldn't get" when you don't even try.

Not saying this kid specifically should have been offered (I know nothing about him), but there's been some peculiar "ignores" by the coaching staff.

A former player is on a coach at a chicago area school that produces 5-8 P5 prospects a year. Former player has not heard from anyone on the purdue staff nor have they come to the school.

I dont get WTF is going on with recruiting.

Hazell is so bad that the folks that know the most about Purdue football are the least likely to send their kids there.

By all things shown and from what I have heard, there is zero questions in regards to Hazell's character. What I simply don't understand is, as others have said, is what seems to be a lack of direction for recruiting. Although not truly successful, Hope at least had a plan in regards to recruiting strategy. That at least allows an organization to see when something isn't working and change directions. With no strategy, as it appears in this instance with Hazell, it is increasingly difficult to pinpoint the problems within your organization.

Does anyone know if Hazell does a radio show in the spring or does it just start when the season starts up? I'd like to call in and ask about his recruiting strategy or maybe Stacey, Kyle, or Brian can enlighten us freebies here.

Correct me if I'm wrong but Frank Kmet's son was a 3-star TE that signed with ND. We never offered. Eight more months and we can cut bait with this clown.

That is correct. He was a 4 star. I think he is Zgonina's nephew too.

Yup, so NFL bloodlines on both sides, both parents are Purdue grads, 4 star player, and ND grabs him while Haze is sitting there with his thumb up his backside. Its absolutely ridiculous, and preposterous. (As Jackie Chiles would say)

I teach at Carmel High, Britt was a former student of mine. Good kid. Sorry to see that Purdue didn't even offer, but what else would you expect of this staff?

It sounds like hazell is trying to sabotage Purdue. Passing on 4 star legacies or kids right in your backyard only to offer others that aren't even mac caliber? Ya makes total sense. This clown can't be gone fast enough.

Everyone is preparing for their job interviews in November.

I have thought the same thing. OSU helped us land him...maybe DH is also on their payroll. Before Hazell showed up, we had the best record over the previous 10 games with the Buckeyes going 4-6. Better than michigan, psu, wisconsin...everyone

Amen brother!!!!

Ironically, Paul was a walk-on at Purdue. He was under the radar at Luers.
I don't believe Jack Beery is related to Paul? Still, another quality legacy lost, who apparently was ours for the taking?

In-state 2017 lineman has strong Purdue ties
Brian Neubert | Publisher
Having grown up around Purdue, in a Purdue family, Britt Beery has been very receptive to the early interest that's come from the Boilermaker coaching staff to his point.
The 6-foot-7, 240-pound Class of 2017 lineman from Carmel High School is the son of former Boilermaker tight end Jack Beery (1983-86) and the godson of former Purdue star quarterback Jim Everett.
Beery knows Purdue well, but got another look on Saturday when he unofficially visited for the Virginia Tech game.
"It was great to visit to Purdue," Beery said. "My father and godfather both played there and I'm very familiar with the campus and facilities and it was great to see Ross-Ade with a packed house during my visit.
"Last year I took my first (recruiting) visit ever to Purdue (for the Northwestern game) and it was a lot of fun. It was a great atmosphere for that game and I look forward to take more visits there in the future."

Just shows the sad state of Purdue football at the moment. I still have no idea what Hazell is doing with this team going into his fourth and final year.

I'm officially over it. After supporting PU for many years, they are truly a disaster. Getting out recruited, out coached, out worked in their own back yard. This will be a sad state for PU football today and for many years to come. BOT wake up. Loosing fans daily.

Now can some of you see the problem..............? Again, Not every Indiana kid is going to be a big time recruit but this type of Sh.t has got to stop!!!!

So did DH2 go after Cole Kmet and get the cold shoulder, or did we not even recruit him?

Interesting that Frank says the NDs, OSUs and Northwesters are telling them it's a 40-year commitment, not just 4 years -- yet apparently PU didn't view it as anything more than 4 or 5 years when Frank was signed.

That's what was being said last year at this time. I think he is here at lest two more years even if we don't win a game this year.

No, MB announced his departure and the search for a new AD is starting now so an AD is in place to lead a search beginning in November, if necessary. Couldn't do it last year because Daniels couldn't let MB hire the next football coach.

And that search is going so well so far. I heard from what I believe is a good source that two members of the search committee resigned at the first meeting.

Edit: Has anyone else heard this?

Why do you think they resigned?
