Even better in combo with DJ after TKR leaves.Cluff could have two years….depends on the JUCO ruling but he played his Frosh and soph at a JUCO.

I doubt it. He doesn't have the skills down. He has size, heart, effort but he was simply too far behind skillwise at this level and wasn't an absolute once in a generation exception like Edey.So if Berg played for these smaller schools that have guys in portal with good numbers, would that be him too?
For sure. Rumor is he is leaning Iowa state thoEven better in combo with DJ after TKR leaves.
That makes no sense to me unless they are giving him substantially more money. Iowa State isn't competing for a natty next seasonFor sure. Rumor is he is leaning Iowa state tho
Have seen Auburn is front runnerFlory Bidunga just became available. Not real high on him but if Braden stays that could get insane. Kid has springs not legs and another year older.
He’s Australian and otz wife is Australian too and a big time bball player from ISU. I think there are mutual bball connections there. But yeah. Agree with you on them not competing for a natty. They will be good again, but not on our level (if we have everyone of course). That makes no sense to me unless they are giving him substantially more money. I mean I don't get transferring for one season for anything other than money or the chance to play in a title game at his level v connections at a lesser program but people have transferred for way crazier reasons. I'm sure there are ten different versions of him we can go after. What we need isn't a star just a serviceable big who can rebound, play defense and has a little offensive game to him. He’s Australian and otz wife is Australian too and a big time bball player from ISU. Unfortunately that could work against us. If a player is a star player, they may not want to come to Purdue and be our third option!I mean I don't get transferring for one season for anything other than money or the chance to play in a title game at his level v connections at a lesser program but people have transferred for way crazier reasons. On TOS, a poster had posted a message saying ISU wasn’t getting Cluff. Says he asked for more then they were willing to pay. He’s Australian and otz wife is Australian too and a big time bball player from ISU. I think there are mutual bball connections there. But yeah. I’m thinking if he has 2 years, we could offer him more that second year! And maybe a lot better chance at getting a ring. He just seems like a perfect fit and would allow Jacobsen to be more of a perimeter player which would be better for his frame and his recoveryOn TOS, a poster had posted a message saying ISU wasn’t getting Cluff. Welllll then.On TOS, a poster had posted a message saying ISU wasn’t getting Cluff. Says he asked for more then they were willing to pay.
Some guy named baller33 said it was all fluff to get a higher price. I doubt he tries that with Paint. We shall see.Welllll then.
I heard he had met with them earlier this week. And then visiting Purdue tomorrow and then ISU apparently is supposed to talk to
Him again…that makes sense that was the reason they didn’t seal it up with him the first time.
I would suspect Purdue would probably still offer more than ISU has to offer. Purdue actually has a pretty good nil base. And a rising Big10 network revenueSome guy named baller33 said it was all fluff to get a higher price. I doubt he tries that with Paint. We shall see.
No idea how you took that from what I typed. Painter isn't looking for a star. Pretty clearly is looking for complimentary pieces to next year's team as he did with Jones last year, who wasn't a star but was a crucial complimentary piece as a secondary ball handler who played good defense and could get his shotUnfortunately that could work against us. If a player is a star player, they may not want to come to Purdue and be our third option!
I didn’t take that from your post. Your post just made me think of what others are saying. A lot of posters here want Cluff to come to Purdue because they see him as the best available big man. But as I see it, if you are the best big man available, why would you come to Purdue where you would become the third best option and a complementary player rather than going somewhere else to be a star. There are some who would say Cluff would be a backup to a healthy Jacobsen. No idea how you took that from what I typed. Painter isn't looking for a star. If I were Cluff, I would have to ask, if I’m a star, why would I come to Purdue to be their third option on offense behind tkr and smith or split time with Jacobsen?
As a Purdue fan , I would love to see it happen. But if I’m Cluff, I’m not so sure I would see his motivation for coming to Purdue? How many star players do you know that transfer to other schools to be a complementary player?
He already visited Iowa state last week. He’s visiting us this weekend. He announced he’s going to visit Iowa state again next week.1. No one said Cluff was the best available big man just that he's a good fit for what we are looking for.
2. Cluff would easily get 20-25 minutes a game on a team with national title contender status. That's exposure and it means NBA scouts and a chance to get more eyeballs.
3. Why is Cluff wasting his time even visiting us then if he's "a star who wants to dominate the ball?" No one considering us cares about that.
I said to put yourself in Cliff’s shoes. Why would a star player consider coming to Purdue? The same applies to any and all portal players. If you were an awesome pg, would you want to transfer to Purdue to get 2 minutes of playing time? If you averaged over 20 ppg, would you want transfer to Purdue to split time with Loyer?1. Was good friend of Jace Rayl. Matt recruited him to the end even when he did not think he could get him. I wonder if he would give Purdue a hard look now. Great kid . I’d like to see him at Purdue. He could learn some skills and improve his offense. Immediate rim protection and rebounderFlory Bidunga just became available. Not real high on him but if Braden stays that could get insane. Putting myself in his shoes I probably, I don't know, research schools and talk to them before spending my time visiting. I probably don't waste my time coming to Purdue next season if I wanted to be the "star player" whatever that means. So since he is coming here for a visit, he's probably just fine with the potential situation whether he signs here or not.I said to put yourself in Cliff’s shoes. I can see where Purdue fans would think it would be awesome for a star player to come to Purdue to help win a championship. But if put that player’s shoes, I can’t see their motivation in coming to Purdue to change from being a star to becoming a complementary player. Players today get plenty of exposure to nba scouts via the combine and other games. They don’t need a ncaa championship to be drafted in the nba.
Please don’t use this much sense when replying to him. It will confuse him.Putting myself in his shoes I probably, I don't know, research schools and talk to them before spending my time visiting. I'm pretty sure no one we bring in is only playing 2 minutes next season.
This is why no one wants to engage with you.
Probably. You can't buy a seven-footer at Walmart. So if Berg played for these smaller schools that have guys in portal with good numbers, would that be him too?
Lot's of schools around the Louisville area if he wants to follow his honey. Ball State or Indiana State would be a great place for him.I predicted Waddell and Berg. Waddell to Butler ?
