Other than Brees donating more money, was there anything substantive that came out of that summit? Just curious because I bet Brees wanted more change in the way we play and he's not seeing it. Brees is a smart guy. Wonder if they involve him in the next coaching decision? Being Purdue, probably not, but seems like he's the only one with a clue.

Just because he was there, doesn't mean he was driving it. It was more likely bait to get people there and the effort was probably to shore up support for Hazell knowing they would be asking for money for the football facility/south end zone.

Unlike everyone on this board!

We'll let's be honest....he's a 36 year old football player that played for Purdue...that's about it. There's alot of guys that played for Purdue and that doesn't give them any less insight into the next coaching decision then Brees. College football is a big business and I have no idea what Brees could possibly add to the conversation other than a "feel good moment" for a few fans.. Anybody on this board could give legitimate recommendations on coaches, there's just alot more to it than that.

I would rather have Brees hire the next coach than Burke.

I think he is more than just a 36 year old football player. He is a Superbowl winning QB who broke Dan Marino 's single season passing record in 2011 before being bested by Manning by 1 yard and had six 5000 passing yard seasons. I would say he's accomplished a little more than playing at Purdue

Yo! Wendell (uncleboiler). The athletic department converses with Rosevelt Colvin all the time. So why not his teammate Drew? Don't you have any faith and trust in our former players????????

I'm sure Brees is a nice guy, but he's not qualified to "weigh in on the next coaching decision".

He is a lot more qualified than Burke is. Brees couldn't do much worse if he tried. It has been three years and not a single game won against a Big Ten school, not that it would mean anything if one lousy win took place. If an NFL QB isn't more qualified than our swim team AD then I am John Elway.
