What makes America great is embracing diversity in the workplace and schools. Mike Braun is an idiot. Even though Holcomb was republican, he seemed to be a decent dude. Non-MAGA for the most part. He made quite a few trips up to the "Da Region" from time to time. I bet in four years, Braun won't make it up to my area once. Red states like FL and others have done the same but Holcomb never succumbed to that BS of getting rid of DEI programs in the state unless I missed something.

I don't give a damn what color or sex a person is if they are the most qualified for the job, and continue to do it at that level after selection. In my many occupations over 50 years of employment I worked with and for both great and terrible people. Some of the least qualified were white. Most got to those positions because of a form of DEI called butt kissing and playing golf with the eight guys. I had male and female supervisors. Some were good. Some were bad. Good leaders are good leaders, and no amount of social engineering can change that. Much like the military or a sports team, good leaders produce more contented and productive employees. DEI only looks at race and sex without regard for ability and ambition. I don't care what sex or race you are. I want you to be productive and fulfilled in life. No amount of feel-good legislation can make that happen.

It’s not just the south. Malcolm X once said, “If you are south of the Canadian border, you are in the south”.

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. had a march in Chicago and said that he experienced more racial resistance in Chicago than any of his marches in the south.

First, how do you know I don't already live in the south. I've lived in both a blue lib city and a southern conservative area and I can tell you that you have no idea what you're talking about whatsoever.

I love when white guilt rears is ugly head in veiled racism and virtue signaling. So, in your words, blacks are less fortunate? In what way? Do you think BNI likes being told that because he's black, that he should be treated differently? Do you think blacks can't succeed on their own brains, merit and work ethic?
Sounds like you might be doing a little pandering to me.

I have no problem giving qualified people a chance, but I've seen far too many good employees laid off because they don't check the right arbitrary boxes, and too many bad employees kept because they do check the right arbitrary box.

Also, not always good for morale when the director of your department has no issue saying in meetings that she would love to replace all the male workers with females and increasing the number of females in the department is one of her goals. So, any rumblings of layoffs, I have to worry that my number will be called because I check none of the arbitrary boxes, she publicly states are very important to her.

Seems to be moving that way as they are working on the guard rails needed for legalization with establishing a legal limit for DUI and such.

In addition, these white firemen would share the entrance exam questions to their family members applying.

So my question to y’all anti-DEI folks is that fair? And why haven’t y’all complain about that? I used city fire departments as an example. This practice have been going on in other industries for decades.

The same could probably be said for jobs at the DMV, social services, etc.

I ain’t claiming anything. This hs been going on for decade and y’all know it. Look it up. This practice was all the time in big cities in the NYC, Boston, Chicago, etc. If you want to know how affirmative action was started im the first place this was one of the reasons.

This is why y’all want to get to get rid of DEI. To get back to the old way of hiring whites only. Make America great again, right.

Hopefully now minorities qualified will get reviewed instead of just meeting a DEI criteria cheating those that deserve the opportunity and remove many potential questions if this was a DEI hire!

What you just stated is racist. Qualified blacks and minorities are being hired through DEI. Now with DEI being taken, we are going back to the days of whites hiring other whites regardless of qualifications. Plus all the legacy hiring and giving answers to exams to sons and daughters.

Diversity by its very nature is neither good or bad. More often than not, having unity with all working towards a common goal achieves more. Do you want your ball team players working in diverse directions...or rules different due to skin color...or just fat people playing with thin people or each player getting certain shots. DEI is racist, stupid and something MLK didn't want. You are passionate about this, and I can respect your passion, but DEI isn't the answer. Advocate for all the things you are sure are wrong, but understand that equality of results is an illogical expectation inside every family, let alone race, sex and any other Intersectionality.

Now, if you want to advocate for blacks that you believe are not offered equality of opportunity due to their skin color...that is fine. Go for it...that is a noble thing to do. BTW, with the few DEI groups I'm aware or have been in...it really isn't diversity, it is black. Rarely is "diversity" that is sign neutral deal with Asians/Hispanics and such. They many times are not included inside the "I" part of DEI.

No doubt there will continue to be some hired with inferior qualifications (try qualifying that though) as you state. However, in a capitalistic country you want to believe that most hires are with the desire of making money and getting the best people to do that. The women pay gap is another example destroyed by logic.

So, I've written this before, but will try again. This man that Jimmy Carter appointed to Algiers was ahead of HR at Cummins in Columbus Indiana. This is a picture more similar to when I would see him. Here is just a bit about him-Ulric St. Clair Haynes Jr. was an American diplomat, lawyer, and university professor. He served as the U.S. Ambassador to Algeria from 1977 to 1981, and a member of the American Academy of Diplomacy, Council of American Ambassadors and Council on Foreign Relations.

My brother-in-law worked for him and they were very good friends. Ric left 30K in a bank account so that my brother-in-law could take care of his horse while in Algiers. He took Jeff around a few countries while he was over there. As head of HR he told Jeff in the mid 70s when affirmative action was going on that they (Cummins) were not going to play that game on quotas. He said there were qualified blacks and they were going to search them out because it was NOT fair to those deserving to be hired to just have a black in its place. I do have to add that his wife was good looking and dated Sidney Poitier before Ric. ;) Another brother-in-law had almost 100% of the public sector contracts in Ohio once collective bargaining in the public sector was a go. He made MLK a day in many schools calendar without anyone knowing it. He was disgusted seeing the unkept property where MLK was shot. Both are deceased, but based upon their history I don't think they would support DEI. I do believe they would want to address all those items where it might be shown that a demographic was not getting a fair shake.

You can be very much against DEI and see the marxist, racism buried inside and yet desire to help those that truly are oppressed.

I think the world of Thomas Sowell and he is black. I like his thinking. You do not. It is not that he is black that we both hold opinions it is that we hold opinions on his thought, who he is and what he has done.
