In order for a sense of humor to be in play, it would have to be, you know, funny. This was not.

The writer was on to something with the intramural team angle; article might have worked with a rundown of wacky transfer portal inducements from teams repping frats, the Evans Scholars, National Society of Black Engineers, etc.
