Braden Smith to Return for Senior Season

Final Four Sport GIF by NCAA March Madness

Numbers being tossed around about NIL is scary with some saying this year's roster tops 15 million. Ray Davis tweeted 11-12 million just for the big three as his guess. It's time our fans are heard! Stop lining everyone else's pockets and put our donations to work where we intended. IMO with one of the fattest NIL accounts in the country losing a generational talent should never even been a rumor. And for those who think we have set the bar to high think again. If not next year, then when?

You might as well get used to it... it's not changing nor going away. I dislike it as well .. but it is the new college landscape.

The tricky game that will be played is how much do you invest in freshman and soph to keep them in the program to let them develop like Smith did? Will be really curious to see how the roster develops after next season and going forward for the next 4 years. If the roster turn over becomes larger and larger for Purdue every year, I wonder for how long Painter will want to put up with it? As long as the NIL stays strong, Purdue can compete. The development and retention of players will be very interesting in this new world.

Well the incoming recruits can see how they could develop like Carsen, Ivey, Zach and Braden did. And have to understand you work for it and put in the time. OR take the easy way out, go get paid, and hope your new coach develops you as well as the Purdue staff could.

Painter and staff recruits certain kids and not the stars in front of their name. Uses the personality test to see the fit and goes from there (obviously more than just that). But the players Purdue goes after are a certain type.

Ray is too high with his statement.

Braden was offered 4-6 million, but coming back to Purdue for 4 at most, BUT he just signed with State Farm and has some other endorsements, so he will make it up. TKR not getting 3 Million and Fletch not getting over @ so I would say Purdue anted up 9 Mill at most for these 3.
