He signed a contract to play abroad somewhere iirc. So there must be some cash-flow. My guess is that they want to present Adidas with great incentive to settle out of court and to limit Discovery. That could present some bad PR for Adidas. However, since the Feds seem to be involved, their Discovery powers are great so I am not sure that works at all. What a mess this is.
I’m not sure the reasoning behind this lawsuit makes much sense without him also suing his dad.
