Welcome to this week's “BOILING OVER,” GoldandBlack.com’s weekly Ultimate Ticket information-clearinghouse and analysis column meant for our subscribers and our subscribers only.
We appreciate everyone’s cooperation in helping us keep what is sometimes delicate information confined to this message board.
We certainly don’t want it to come to this, but if there are problems, subscriptions have and will be canceled over this.
We know there are a lot of blogs out there and a lot of you are on Twitter and other message boards, and we don’t want to come off like Darth Vader here, but we would be doing all our subscribers a disservice if weren’t proactive about protecting the value of their subscription. Thanks in advance for your cooperation.
Additionally, we address recruiting in-depth and often without filter in this feature and we do it behind a subscription-protected barrier for a reason, in hopes of avoiding situations where our reporting can impact the recruiting process, which can happen occasionally. So again, we appreciate everyone's cooperation very much.

It will be interesting to see what he says about his commitment to the Boilermakers, because we have every reason to believe right now it is wobbly at best if not altogether dissolved, without him having actually gone through the process of decommitting as of yet.
We do have reason to think that Miller visited Indiana this past weekend and we know he has had IU and Louisville continuing to recruit him. This comes after, as you know, he committed to Purdue earlier this summer, then soon after wiped all mention of it from his social media. The move has been explained to some as him wanting to step away from social media, but he has continued to tweet, nothing about recruiting, but tweeting nonetheless.
If Miller does publicly decommit from Purdue, we'd expect it to be explained off under the rushed-decision umbrella.
Again, we'll see what he says tomorrow, but things do not look all that rosy for Purdue here with one of its highest-regarded commitments.
Miller would be another blow to a corps of defensive recruits that has already lost Jacoby Hill (at least for the time being) and cornerback Jake Long and may have to fight like hell at some point to keep DB Brandon Shuman, who is going to keep hearing from a lot of schools and who hasn't even visited Purdue yet. You'll recall our past report that Jemison is enrolled at Purdue as a student and has been told by Coach Darrell Hazell that if he keeps his grades up, he'll have a walk-on spot on the team come January.
That's the plan for Jemison, who was set to sign with Purdue a few years ago, but ultimately couldn't be signed due to academic issues. He went to Grand Valley instead and started eight of 11 games for them as a freshman, making 41 tackles with an interception.
Jemison was accompanied at Purdue's practice by former Bishop Luers and Grand Valley teammate Gerald McGee, who's apparently trying to do the same thing as Jemison. He's enrolled at Purdue, also, hoping to join the team as a walk-on. (BN)

It might seem excessive for Purdue to sign as many as four receivers in a class that as of now has less than a dozen scholarships. (It'll wind up being more; always does.)
But that's counting Jack Wegher as a wide receiver, whereas we'd consider him more an offensive athlete. He might end up a full-time versatile running back for all we know and Purdue could use a speed guy back there to complement its north-south types currently.
Here is our Q&A with Wegher from this morning.

Last year, Purdue signed a West Lafayette High School player in offensive lineman Peyton Truitt. West Side may have another prospect worth following in the 2017 class in Jonah Williams, the son of former Boilermaker player and current administrator Calvin Williams.
In the game we saw of the Red Devils last season, Williams looked like an outside linebacker-type recruit and that was as only a sophomore. He's probably in the 6-2, 210-pound range if we had to guess and with added physical maturity could even grow into a defensive end. You never know.
He looked like a good prospect in that game and we know West Side people are expecting him to be a very good player, and given his ties to Purdue, we'd thing he'll be a player worth watching for the Boilermaker staff.

Antoine Winfield Jr.

Not sure Mooney would fill the "big man" fit Purdue would look for, though.
Mooney isn't a center, we don't think.
It'll be interesting to see how Mooney's re-recruitment goes. He pretty much shut down playing summer basketball, so he probably hasn't been seen by very many people. (BN)

Will be interesting to see if any of Purdue's top in-state 2017 targets show up, for one thing. (BN)
