And Nevada as 21.5 point underdogs vs. Oregon
Sports Illustrated
This is a shining moment for this coaching staff and these players. Let’s just forget about the past and focus on being at home preparing for three very important games. This next one being important because it’s the first home game and it will set the tone for the following weekends! Boiler-up!Vandy isn't good, it's not a secret. They have a very inexperienced defense, particularly on the line (which tends to bode well for us). Their offense has some good players including at RB, but again their line is inexperienced. The only thing to point out is their schedule was starting with #3 Georgia, then us, then #6 LSU. They'll be gunning for a win and have faced a really good team...but I don't think all of that inexperience can be made up for in 1 game experience.
You gotta win these games at home and Purdue should.

Their D is good enough to completely shut down our run game (because we don't have one) and if Sindelar plays the same way he did last week with 2 bad picks, and we make a few mistakes we won't win this game.
Their QB is very bad....but I don't know how much worse than the Nevada kid he will be once he gets some time due to our lack of pass rush.
Vaughn is going to run for 200 on us. He's a monster and they will get him free a couple of times. We'll have a much harder time throwing the ball on them too.
I think we should win, but this is not going to be a cake walk.

If we're a bowl team, we'd BETTER win this game at home.I agree it's not a cakewalk (any program that's had some of the losses we have had in the last couple years should not take anyone lightly).
However, it's also not a tremendous accomplishment to get a win here. This is what's happened on this board - over-celebrate not that great of wins and then when they lose to a similar opponent, it's sky is falling.

Vaughn is a name Purdue fans should remember. We recruited Vaughn hard, and he looked at one time to be a Purdue lean. We were in the final 2 or 3 for him, but lost out for him at the end of the recruiting cycle to Illinois.Their D is good enough to completely shut down our run game (because we don't have one) and if Sindelar plays the same way he did last week with 2 bad picks, and we make a few mistakes we won't win this game.

mostly because they also offered a H.S. teammate of his. Also they say, the biggest improvement by a team is between the first and second game, so let's see what happens.Vaughn is a name Purdue fans should remember. Vaughn scares me with Neal out in the middle. We are going to need our LBs to really step up.mostly because they also offered a H.S. teammate of his. Also they say, the biggest improvement by a team is between the first and second game, so let's see what happens.

For context, this message board had Purdue playing for a National Championship a week ago. Are their fans really being that unreasonable?
I didn’t read anyone predicting that on here. IU fans are the delusional fans. For context, this message board had Purdue playing for a National Championship a week ago. Are their fans really being that unreasonable?

Vandy fan here, looking forward to making the trip this weekend. This post caught my attention. We missed out on Vaughn AND the teammate mentioned in this post. Well Vaughn transferred out of Illinois two years ago and came back home, that teammate was Cameron Watkins, who is now our starting CB via Grad Transfer from Illinois. Good luck to you guys.mostly because they also offered a H.S. teammate of his. Also they say, the biggest improvement by a team is between the first and second game, so let's see what happens.
