Boilers get a Blough job

In Blough's defense, he was trying to throw it away and the defender got the ball/his arm. Still has to be more careful with the ball in that situation but for what has to be the first time in Purdue football history, a major turnover in a tied game late in the 4th didn't kill us.

Well there was that Brees O$U thing.

More recently, there was the Marve interception against OSU when Purdue was in position for a long Wiggs FG attempt to win the game. To his credit, Marve made a couple of big plays in OT (a third down run and a pass to Gary Bush) to win the game.

Blough still tries to force plays from time to time. That is true. That comes from inexperience, but he is growing each game.

The game winning TD pass to Hopkins in the Nevada game was just supposed to be a run. However, instead of just running the play as called, he improvised and found Hopkins for the touchdown. I like having a QB that can get creative from time to time. It can sometime lead to turnovers, but it can lead to big plays too.

We need anything we can get right now to get some excitement in our football team.

bad decisions aren't as big a problem as bad throws. everyone has bad throws or drops once in a while.
the boilers haven't had a good qb in years. including appleby and etling.

The thing is Blough was a pretty accurate passer up to this game, don't know what his deal was...hey it happens no ones perfect but I do know he's done a hell of a lot better than Etling!

A couple weeks ago you could a made a fortune betting Purdue fans that Blough would be the only QB out of him, Etling, and Appleby that would win a game this past weekend.

Well to be fair, Blough has been on a much longer leash than Appleby and Etling were. Maybe that's Shoopfense related, but allowing the QB to create is not something that had been encouraged in the previous 3 years. That being said, at least Blough will have the chance to make mistakes and hopefully learn from them. I'm not sure if Etling was given that opportunity or just didn't want to.

we're going to bitch about the qb? Really? omg this forum...

not just about the qb. but you have to be able to see the WIDE open receivers that aren't thrown to or thrown behind or over their heads.

not the only problem but a problem for sure.
