Already named a new coach - believe it was one of his assistants.
He was such a miserable @ss the last year or so. Good riddance.

Go look up all his post game interviews. He was an ass at every chance he could be to reporters. He also said that Wake Forest bought their team while ignoring his last recruit committed after some big booster paid for the kid to come to Syracuse.

Dude should have retired 3 years ago but his ego was too big. He had to be the cool guy coaching all his sons at once.
Just find it funny that we have multiple HOF coaches and he makes douchebag comments towards our conference. I agree that he's a miserable person and should have retired years ago
He was even an ass at the presser today. Basically toyed with the reporter asking him a simple question about whether he was done coaching. Kept passing the buck to the school. Then basically 20 minutes later it was announced that he was not coming back. Either he and school were completely at odds, or he's an ass. Betting on the latter.
Have despised the guy since ‘87 when he choked away the title game to the Loosiers - despite having 3 nba talents on his roster….
More like he was fired - I believe he had one year left on his contract. Guy was miserable and his team was awful this year.
I was hoping they’d keep him another couple of years so he could return Syracuse to where it was before he arrived.

Me too. 8th grade, would have won my friend's dad's office pool if Syracuse had won.
in 2000 or 2001 there was a basketball skills weekend at Moravian College ( Bethlehem, Pa). There were H.S. coaches and 2 major college coaches ( Boeheim and Skip Prosser of Wake). It was night and day between the two of them personality wise. Boeheim didn't field many ?'s and seemed like he didn't want to be there whereas Prosser was a really nice and knowlegable guy.
But, since he won a NC, he's a great coach... (TIC)

My brother has worked college bball for tv for a number of years (production booth). Per his interactions with Boeheim multiple times - he’s a complete asshat. Bitter, condescending and full of himself. A miserable person to work with.
It comes across in his persona. He literally complained about wake forest. I'm not advocating for the b10 to take them in but if there's a school that isn't going out of its way to cheat...wake is it. Syracuse is not.
