The battle is over we know who the starter is and will be the rest of the season so what battle are you talking about.
And I get what some of you are saying the quarterbacks played terrible. But I don't think you could say David played terrible because he only played three plays. He had no chance to make up for his one mistake of getting sacked.
The battle is over we know who the starter is and will be the rest of the season so what battle are you talking about.
1973, if he didn't play terrible then he will play again. There isn't anything to point towards a transfer for him.
Moronic. Blough is one play away from being the starter again. (I'm not hoping for anyone to get hurt, either.)I'm just saying for a business standpoint it makes sense cuz he's never going to see the field again and he's too competitive to sit on the sidelines
What business standpoint? Blough is not going to play in the NFL. Short QBs without a strong ACCURATE arm don't have a "business" standpoint. For a business standpoint he should transfer. It's obvious the coach has no confidence in him now
I call BS. Drew was short but he didn't have a college career rife with bone head interceptions and a weak inaccurate arm. He's soon to be the most prolific passer in NFL history. Blough is not even in his neighborhood.Well I remember everybody saying Drew Brees wasn't going to make it into the NFL either. For those exact same reasons
personally, I don't have a preference to either QB but when a poster brings up Blough's Int's , Sindelar isn't much better albeit he has a shorter history. Elijah should have been picked of a couple more times yesterday but they were dropped. I still believe Sipe makes a statement in next year's pre season.I call BS. Drew was short but he didn't have a college career rife with bone head interceptions and a weak inaccurate arm. He's soon to be the most prolific passer in NFL history. Blough is not even in his neighborhood.
Maybe because they're the Chargers and have never been able overcome the fact that they're not nearly as smart as they always think they are.Yeah Drew Brees defeated All Odds but when he came into the NFL there was plenty of people saying he wasn't going to make it because of his height. He was always label too short. And I'm not comparing David to Drew. Why do you think the Chargers drafted another quarterback why he was there
Nobody said that after he started the 1998 season with the game at USC. Nobody.Well I remember everybody saying Drew Brees wasn't going to make it into the NFL either. For those exact same reasons
This thread really sucks. Blough isn’t transferring. There is no clear #1. Sindelar throws another brutal pick like yesterday and Blough will be immediately back in the game. They are both on short leashes.
I’m starting to wish we picked one and stuck with him. I don’t think the immediate yank if you make a mistake is good for their long term development.
Neither one has stood out to be honest but with the o line being so pourous it's hard to hold just the QB accountable.I don’t think coach is all that committed to either one to be honest.
I completely agree. He is getting his degree paid for. He will NEVER see the NFL. There is no "business" case. What business standpoint? Blough is not going to play in the NFL. Short QBs without a strong ACCURATE arm don't have a "business" standpoint.
I just can't imagine Brohm being pissed at Blough for tucking and running unless he is clearly missing open receivers...which he has done from time to time. At this point in time, with the last three games...Sindelar is the better option. If a time comes when Blough gets a series in or two if Sindelar or the offense appears to be stalling out...I'm all for that.As an earlier poster commented, it is obvious to me that Blough is on a "short leash". Brohm will not tolerate his mistakes any longer and it appears coach may have settled on Sindelar after yesterday. Its a shame because, Blough has lost his confidence and now plays tentative. Clearly Brohm has stressed standing tall in pocket and stepping up under defensive pressure but if receivers are unable to separate, David no longer is willing to make contested throws. Despite an inate ability to scramble, he seems reluctant to. One of his strengths has always been his ability to run and "make something positive out of nothing" Brohm has not put Blough in a position to be successful in my view since the Mizzou game. He rarely is given an opportunity to roll out on pass/run option. No waggles,no bootlegs and most of the throwbacks are simple dumpoff screens.
My guess is that Brohm saw something we aren't seeing in those three plays that was inductive to what Brohm has explained to Blough about needing to do better to continue playing. When he didn't do those things in those three plays, Brohm wasn't going to stick with him.He got pulled out of the game after only playing 3 plays. The games before this they both played at least a quarter. Watch and see if old boy don't start the rest of the season and play the whole game unless he gets injured
and they thought it would be even more smart to be in Los Angeles.Maybe because they're the Chargers and have never been able overcome the fact that they're not nearly as smart as they always think they are.
