Bloughs thoughts...

The battle is over we know who the starter is and will be the rest of the season so what battle are you talking about.

The way he got pulled out after three plays I get one of the sacks was his fault but that second one was not his fault. Then he got pulled from the game after just three plays that tells me his time here is over. At least his time here playing is over unless oh boy gets hurt.

And I get what some of you are saying the quarterbacks played terrible. But I don't think you could say David played terrible because he only played three plays. He had no chance to make up for his one mistake of getting sacked.

1973, if he didn't play terrible then he will play again. There isn't anything to point towards a transfer for him.

He got pulled out of the game after only playing 3 plays. The games before this they both played at least a quarter. Watch and see if old boy don't start the rest of the season and play the whole game unless he gets injured

I don't like the tube quarterback system. I don't favor either quarterback but I would wish he would make a decision and just stick with one. Quarterbacks need to get in a Groove you can't do that the way they're being played. Not against good teams you can't

I'm not hoping for anybody to get hurt either but it came clear to me Saturday who he favors. And with the easy part of the schedule coming up whoever starts should look pretty good

Well I remember everybody saying Drew Brees wasn't going to make it into the NFL either. For those exact same reasons
I call BS. Drew was short but he didn't have a college career rife with bone head interceptions and a weak inaccurate arm. He's soon to be the most prolific passer in NFL history. Blough is not even in his neighborhood.

personally, I don't have a preference to either QB but when a poster brings up Blough's Int's , Sindelar isn't much better albeit he has a shorter history. Elijah should have been picked of a couple more times yesterday but they were dropped. I still believe Sipe makes a statement in next year's pre season.

Yeah Drew Brees defeated All Odds but when he came into the NFL there was plenty of people saying he wasn't going to make it because of his height. He was always label too short. And I'm not comparing David to Drew. Why do you think the Chargers drafted another quarterback why he was there

Maybe because they're the Chargers and have never been able overcome the fact that they're not nearly as smart as they always think they are.

This thread really sucks. Blough isn’t transferring. There is no clear #1. Sindelar throws another brutal pick like yesterday and Blough will be immediately back in the game. They are both on short leashes.

I’m starting to wish we picked one and stuck with him. I don’t think the immediate yank if you make a mistake is good for their long term development.

Sorry for starting this thread. The camera panned to David before he was in the game, standing next to coach and that song popped in to my head. Never meant for it to be a thread to dig on anyone.

My thoughts on Blough is he knows the offense, can move the team, is a leader but he has to quit throwing the bad interceptions. Yeah all QB's throw them but I think he can be so much better than the bad interceptions he has thrown. And I think he knows that. How can anyone not like the guy, gives it everything he has.

I don’t think coach is all that committed to either one to be honest.

Neither one has stood out to be honest but with the o line being so pourous it's hard to hold just the QB accountable.

We more than likely are going to have a dual QB system for the rest of the season just because there isnt a clear separation between them yet.

What business standpoint? Blough is not going to play in the NFL. Short QBs without a strong ACCURATE arm don't have a "business" standpoint.
I completely agree. He is getting his degree paid for. He will NEVER see the NFL. There is no "business" case.

Sindelar looked like puked up cheerios against whiskey. I don't know why he played so much. Could have been an easy 2-3 INT game for him. Guess better lucky than good sometimes. It's hard to argue one is better than the other at this point.

As an earlier poster commented, it is obvious to me that Blough is on a "short leash". Brohm will not tolerate his mistakes any longer and it appears coach may have settled on Sindelar after yesterday. Its a shame because, Blough has lost his confidence and now plays tentative. Clearly Brohm has stressed standing tall in pocket and stepping up under defensive pressure but if receivers are unable to separate, David no longer is willing to make contested throws. Despite an inate ability to scramble, he seems reluctant to. One of his strengths has always been his ability to run and "make something positive out of nothing" Brohm has not put Blough in a position to be successful in my view since the Mizzou game. He rarely is given an opportunity to roll out on pass/run option. No waggles,no bootlegs and most of the throwbacks are simple dumpoff screens.
I just can't imagine Brohm being pissed at Blough for tucking and running unless he is clearly missing open receivers...which he has done from time to time. At this point in time, with the last three games...Sindelar is the better option. If a time comes when Blough gets a series in or two if Sindelar or the offense appears to be stalling out...I'm all for that.

I'm a little more perplexed when Sparks hasn't been given a chance at the wildcat look at this point unless the offensive line just can't pick up the concepts and the package isn't thought of highly. Can't imagine being down only 8 to Whisky during an away game and not trying something when the offense was so clearly stumped.

My guess is that Brohm saw something we aren't seeing in those three plays that was inductive to what Brohm has explained to Blough about needing to do better to continue playing. When he didn't do those things in those three plays, Brohm wasn't going to stick with him.

Cannot have the whole team doing their jobs and QB coming out tossing picks. Either play to win or sit the pine. If ya ain't ready to play ya getting benched today. JB knows what he's doing this is division 1. If ya can't play up to standard the next guy in line will be. Especially at QB.
