Blough it is

Should they stick with the guy not getting it done?
I understand that sentiment, however there is something to allowing a guy grown a bit. During the first three games of Joey Elliott's Sr. year I called for him to be benched because he lost two games for Purdue with fumbles. I WAS WRONG. He fixed his issues and went on to have a great year.

If Purdue keeps changing QBs at each point of struggle - no one will ever develop.

The thing is that Appleby has now played significant minutes in 12 games. That is the equivalent to an entire season, and he still has not figured it out. However, I am worried that if we put Blough in now he will go down the same road due to poor coaching. I don't know what the solution is, but Appleby was given plenty of time to prove that he can make improvements.

I like both of these QBs when I have heard them interviewed. Blough seems to have a little more spunk about him. Let's hope the system allows him to do what he does best.

nothing against Appleby, I think the man gave it his all, just hoping Blough lights a fire in the offense and gets the team playing well

Here we go again on the merry go round
I liked Blough in the Spring Game against a C- defense. I like his charisma and his press conference and he said the right things. All that being said, Peyton Manning would fail in this system; it is too complicated and has been ineffective at all levels, pro and college. When was the last time you saw a "John Shoop" offense tear it up? Even with UNC and all those NFL players they were not top 40.

I think you'll see a crisper and more efficient offense this week. That said, we'll still be hamstrung with Shoops poor at best scheming and untimely play calling. If we avoid mistakes and keep BGSU in the 30s, I like our chances tho.

He will do fine. The game plan will be stay in the pocket and quick handoffs like the one Jones scored on. When we add the read option it will regress

Whatever they do, please don't do the read option! If you don't have a running QB to begin with, that's just a disaster waiting to happen.

I would love to see Blough change plays in to the huddle to something he's comfortable with or what he sees in the defense. Yes, I actually trust a sophomore QB to call the game better than Shoop. Can you argue with me?

I would trust a random selection of plays over Shoop calling them.

Jobs will be on the line when there are more empty seats than full one's. And jobs will end when this guy's contract is up because Burke isn't going to pay Hazell after just paying Hope for two years.
keep the shirt on Sindelar esp. if the season keeps going downhill.

Good luck David Blough! If he does well now, my only regret will be that we didn't give him a chance sooner.
