See you're going the blough v aa route. The fact is, we don't know... Because within 3 weeks they made blough look worse than aa did. Is your comparison fair? Blough when nobody had tape on him v. Aa when shoop had done the magic he already did with Henry and etling?
How would you know what AA is? Shoop tried to run the read option with him! Shoop tried to make Henry a pocket passer!
I'm not saying I know who is better. I'm saying both came here with something to offer and nobody f-ing knows how good either is. I've wondered if this idiot could make brees look bad.
No, our qb's don't transfer to D3 schools...they go to SEC schools like LSU.My high school football coaching buddy and I have talked about this a lot. We have come to the conclusion that this coaching staff in general and Shoop in particular are as bad at understanding their players talents as Tiller was good at it. Tiller was masterful at understanding what kids could do and then putting them in a position to excel. These guys appear to do just the opposite. Blough looked terrible today and the kid is a nice quarterback. With Shoop's continued guidance, he will soon be an average D-3 quarterback.
I think all of these players, who have decent but not great talent, doubt themselves because they are being used ineffectively. It is very sad to see this team get worse year after year.
Now overall team talent is also an issue, and recruiting has not effectively addressed this.
It is just a mess, isn't it?
He's there as a favor to the family by their friend Cam Cameron. I'd be shocked if DE ever plated at LSU.No, our qb's don't transfer to D3 schools...they go to SEC schools like LSU.
41-13, at home, & by either the 2nd or 3rd worst team in the B1G, is proof enough for me. This season is lost, & Hazell definately has that "deer in the headlights look". Why this season wouldn't be Hazell's last at Purdue, unless he can pull 3 conference wins out of his hat, is beyond me. Questions still abound, who's proven/probably better, that we can get now, or at season's end? If we pull the plug on Hazell now, will/can our next head coach get the recruits he needs? Probably not, this late in the season, but if we get the right coach, just maybe it's not too late to salvage next season, & a head coach who can recruit & coach, at the same time.To those who wanted a qb change, guess what? You are right. This staff is a joke. They take a qb and start him at the beginning of the season and things don't work out so they go to the backup. Its the same old crap every year. Shoop doesn't know how to train these qb's. He is taking them and driving them into the ground. It is a shame.
You hit the nail on the head with the con. The whole QB change reset garbage.
Don't prepare your team right? Don't execute well in terms of scheme? Lost? Not good at your job... just switch QBs 4 games into every year or so. That way, maybe you can sell your ineptitude as "the new kid being lost"
The QB change was a very refreshing thing to see. Let the younger guys get reps. Now on the other hand, it is without question that this coaching staff hasn't got a clue. And because Burke went into this arrangement with Hazell flaunting very poor negotiating skills with his hat in his hand, we are in the situation we are now in. Which is why he needs to be either fired or forced into retirement this year now and the Board of Trustees needs to make a decision on his replacement with a very very well thought out selection of someone whom has the proper football knowledge background needed to evaluate a football coach and understand what traits that somebody needs to have in order to win. The current coaches clearly do not have the skill to coach a college QB or run any part of this squad whatsoever (we are pathetic in all categories). When 11 starters are out on a mediocre squad and they come into your stadium with the 2nd worse offense in FBS and embarrass the home team this is time to fire people. I mean we are up against Michigan level. What kind of AD is going to give this guy a long-term contract with an unproven short term track record? We need quite clearly an athletic director who himself has a football pedigree with the academic qualifications and character to compliment the whole package. We can't come out with a swim team guy, as we are now, because he simply cannot relate to the problems and needs of which it requires to compete at this level with these other schools. At this point I'd put 90% of the blame on Burke, 9% of the blame on Hazell, and 1% of the blame on the players.
