Great team win, and Swanigan's ability to operate out of that high post and make great passes is such a huge asset.

There were a few times where I thought Caleb did a nice job sealing his man, and was open for a pass over the top (Hill seemed to have hesitated a few times). I'd definitely like to see him get a few more touches down low, but I realize I'm probably searching for issues with this team...hard to not feel good about this group, and think CS will only get better.

Caleb plays a bit fast at times. When the game finally slows down for him, watch out. He will tear up the game. Gotta remember he is still 17 (I think) and should be a senior in high school.

Caleb is coming along well and if he stays here for 3 years, IMO we will have 2 final four appearances. This will also propel him to being a 1st round draft choice.

However, I am still shocked AJ does not spell Caleb at PF from time to time. AJ can do everything that Caleb does from the high post on offense. The question is D, but AJ switched off on Evans today and blocked his shot when Evans drove around him to the basket.

If we develop this for a few minutes (3-5) every half, we can go far in the tournament. As an added bonus, guarding smaller players will make AJ a 1st round draft choice too.

The only negative is if AJ and Haas picked up 4 fouls every game, but this has not been the case this year.

If you listen to Isaac and AJ this year, the phrase "Keep it simple" keeps coming up as how they both have been successful this year and I think Caleb needs to follow that advice to become a more efficient offensive player. He's a freshman and he's had 8 games to go out and learn the things he can do with his current skill set that work and also what doesn't work. I think it's time as we get closer to conference season to start paring down his game to focus on his strengths and move away from some of the things that haven't worked as well for him. I think for this team to continue to get better and prepare to go deep into March, Swanigan needs to keep his turnovers down. In the offseason, he can work on improving his skillset and that, along with the experience of his freshman season slowing the game down for him, will allow him to expand his game dramatically next season as has been the case with nearly all of our sophomores this year. I really don't think Swanigan has shown to be a one-and-done type of player but I think his physical attributes and his work ethic will allow him to develop into first round pick after his 2nd or 3rd season and honestly that's what we all should be hoping for. As much as it would hurt to lose Haas or Swanigan early to the pros, it would give Coach Painter added recruiting clout in recruiting highly rated big men in the future.
