Biggie's first Summer League Game....

Las Vegas Summer League Title Game: Caleb Swanigan and the Trail Blazers vs. Lonzo Ball and the Lakers at 10 tonight (ESPN). The Lakers have the bigger crowd but do the Blazers have the chutzpah to pull the Biggie upset?! (bad pun intended)

Last I checked, Ball was out with a calf injury

Lakers down the Trailblazers, 110-98, without Ball (who sat out with a calf injury). Kuzma was game MVP for LA; Ball was League MVP.

Caleb Swanigan led Portland with 25/12 in 35 minutes of action. Here's the boxscore:

Those are impressive numbers. He's doing a fantastic job of proving early his worth to Portland mgmt. Just has to keep doing it once the real season starts.

Very pretty! The kinda no look pass through the lane for a dunk was awesome.

I watched a number of Portland's games. Biggie will be playing in the NBA a long time. Even though I am an IU/Lakers fan, I admire what that young man has accomplished in life. He is an inspirational story.

He got A LOT more touches and a little bit more PT than I expected for him in the LVSL. His 3PT shooting could have been better but his FT shooting seemed as good or better than it was at Purdue. Otherwise, he was the player he's billed to be (very good rebounder, decent-to-good passer, not a laterally-quick defender, moves well without the ball on O, etc.).
