What a player he is! Best player on Purdue's team? OF COURSE! Best player in the B1G? EASILY! Best player in the nation? I say ABSOLUTELY! Let's ride "BIGGIE"-mentum all the way to the NCAA Title! What a dream come true it is to have a player like "BIGGIE" at PURDUE.

I'll go with a strong possibility of being the best player in the Big Ten. Best in the nation? Probably not. Best rebounder in the country? So far as I've seen.
I haven't seen anybody close to Biggie, but if he doesn't win one of the POY awards, I would guess Josh Hart of Villanova to be the player closest to BIGGIE. I like BIGGIE for national POY!

I just think he's a bit of a liability on defense still and the problem with turnovers leads me to believe that he's probably not the best player in the country. He's one of the top 10 probably. If he were to come back next season he, and the team, could be the best but I don't think he's quite there just yet.

He does a lot of little things that you love to see in a great player. I don't think he is the type of scorer that would qualify in the eyes of most. Example: When the Big Dog had the ball in his hands with under 10 to shoot everyone in the country knew there was about a 90% change he was going to score one way or another and that no one could stop it. Biggie is great but not at the level of the very best in the country. maybe its a down year for super stars and he stands out a little more?

would love for him to get it and it would probably mean that Purdue did very well in teh tourney.

You know what impresses me most? He's not out to "get his." He has brought a refreshingly humble team-first approach this year, and that makes it easier for his coach to get buy-in from the rest of the squad. When your All-American candidate is willing to hustle back on defense, feed his low-post partner on offense, and burn roughly twelve thousand calories per game, you've got a great start toward a superlative team.

If he leaves after this year, his biggest contribution to the program may be the work ethic he displayed while he was here. That rubs off on your teammates.

He also goes after every rebound like his life depended upon it....and even teammates have a few "windex" bruises to prove it.

You ok? I am all about the optimism, but there are places that can help you.

Completely agree. BUT don't get in Biggie's way if he wants a rebound-friend or foe. He has that rebound sonar on and if you're in the path, there could be pain:)

Great thoughts on rebounding, and you know what? I love that he'll rip the ball away from anyone. I'd rather have two of our guys get called for travel because they're fighting for a board than have a ball drop between them or get stripped away because they didn't go after it tenaciously.

Biggie is a nasty rebounder in the best possible way.

He'd be a lock for Nat POY if he played for Duke or UK or some East coast team. Oh wait, the B1G tourney is in DC so the Boilers are an east coast team.

The problem with that comparison is that Big Dog would be a one and done if he was playing today. I haven't seen an upperclassman with his talent level in a long time.

I'm assuming that this was one of the inspirations for this thread but if not, I was just going to say that today he was named B1G POW for the fourth time this season (in case anyone didn't know). Hopefully this continues to be commonplace for him (or any of his teammates)!

Exception: Rebounding

Regardless of jersey, bodies fly when he hits the boards. I don't consider that to be a negative aspect of his game.
Agree. And how many times have we had two guys go for a rebound this year, only to have the ball squirt out of bounds? How many times have two guys grabbed the rebound and then both of them let it go and the other team grabs it? None that I can recall. Biggie simply rips the ball away from everyone, friend or foe!

the guy deserves player of the year in the conference at this point-and 1st team all american consideration. With the right draw.....Purdue could make a very deep run this year, we won't get blown out which means we will be in all games. I do think this team is different than the past couple.
That picture of Crean you have never fails to make my chuckle!
