Big Ten
Record in the tournament. 8-3*
Record vs ACC: 3-0
Wins against seeds: 1, 2, 5, 8, 9, 9, 10, 13
Lost against seeds: 1, 11, 12
Record against Power Conferences: 6-0 (6-1 if you included Zags from a power conference, but can't for obvious reasons).

*(includes loss against #1 seed by our #8 seed Northwestern, which the refs F'd up late)

ACC
Record in the tournament. 6-7
Record vs Big Ten: 0-3
Wins against seeds: 12, 12, 14, 15, 15, 16
Lost against seeds: 4, 7, 8, 9, 11, 4, 11,
Record against Power Conferences: 0-7

Conclusion: While this is a banner year for the ACC, it can't compare with that of a down year in the Big Ten.

Bump just because this post is so amazing. acc could actually have 0 teams in the final 16 by the end of the day. Not likely for Duke or UNC losses but the Louisville vs Michigan game should be an amazing game.

This is a good post except it doesn't include arguably the three best ACC teams which play tonight in Duke, UNC, and Louisville. Duke and UNC will likely win tonight, but Michigan has a real chance at knocking off Louisville.

The four best Big Ten teams (Minny and MND had injuries affect them significantly down the stretch and in the tournament so I am not counting them) are still in it. Wisconsin, Purdue, MSU and Michigan. Wisconsin beat a one seed and has the easiest path to the elite 8. MSU plays Kansas and if they win, that guarantees atleast one Big team in the elite 8 with a good shot at getting two. The Big Ten wasn't flashy, but because it was perceived as a down year, losses to fellow Big teams hurt rankings more than they should and wins against fellow Big teams didn't provide the same boost. The media is biased towards the ACC, Big 12, and Big East because of the name of the teams at the top, but the Big Ten has looked impressive. Even Northwestern had a shot against the Zags if not for that hose job/4 point swing that never should have happened. Solid showing and I will continue to pull for the Big to make some noise as long as they aren't playing Purdue (at least until after MSU plays Kansas. Then I will root against them even if they beat Purdue because my dislike for them is so strong.) The downside is that most of the top Big Teams all got put in the same bracket, reducing their odds at getting more teams in the final four. Duke, UNC, and Louisville are all in different brackets and FSU/ND were in the fourth bracket giving them a chance at putting 4 teams in the final four. That shows you everything you need to know about that BS bias. Also, Duke and Virginia were positioned so they wouldn't play until elite 8, ND and FSU wouldn't play until the elit 8. That may just be conspiracy but they should did favors for the ACC to get them the best chance at sending the most teams to the elite 8 and it still backfired. If a Big team finds a way to knock off Kansas ... lookout! Personally, I love it. I haven't felt this good about at a tournament in a loooooooong time.

This has happened before. I remember a very similar situation where the B10 was supposedly down and the ACC and Big East had the top seeds. The underrated B10 dismantled the favorites, but they put our top teams in the same bracket so that they knocked each other off. Look familiar?

I sure as shit don't want a Michigan rematch. They are a horrible matchup for us and they are one of the hottest teams in the country.

I actually think meeting Michigan in the E8 would be a fitting step on Purdue's March to the FF. I don't think Purdue would lose for a 3rd time.

But you're right: a Herculean task awaits Purdue in KC on Thursday evening. Don't want to get ahead of myself.

Since Northwestern was robbed by the officials last night and the NCAA doing their best quietly admit it, I'd like to see M$U advance as well as USC, UCLA, and Oregon so 50% of the remaining field is not from East Coast

Bump one more time tonight because those gosh darn invincible acc schools just keep losing for some reason ;) unc the last team left for the best conference in the nation. Big 10, big 12, Sec, and maybe Pac-12 with 3 teams in the sweet sixteen.

Also, how big of a story would it be for Spike to defeat his old school to take his new school to their first FF since 1980!! That would be a great write-up!!
