Biden getting us into WW III before leaving office.

What's your point? You want to play word games?

A nuclear war implies both sides using nukes. That didn't happen.
Both sides were racing to develop atomic bombs, so it was an atomic war. Thankfully, the good guys won that race and were able to use atomic bombs to save millions of lives.

Yeah, all their bumbling and screwups have led to no global wars or nuclear exchanges in the nearly 80 years since WW2. So sorry that the world isn't running as smoothly as you think it should be.
Bob, I was referring to the bumbling and screwups of the Biden admin. Iran appeasement, open borders, Afg withdrawal debacle, etc.

If you want to look at the past 80 years, consider the senseless and deadly Vietnam war, the Iraq invasion, the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989 that completely surprised our intelligence agencies - as did the 9/11 attacks. I could add to this list, but those are the worst.

Lol. If simply bombing the locals would get them to stop we could have won in Afghanistan.

How do you resupply the base? Just fly in a C-17 over Taliban territory where anybody with a MANPADS can shoot it down? You want to send armed convoys through enemy territory to bring in supplies? Trying to keep an airbase operational while it's completely surrounded is completely illogical and shows a fundamental lack of understanding of military tactics and operations. Now deflect to something else to hide the fact you don't know wtf you're talking about.
Winston, we landed aircraft at Bagram throughout the entire Afg war without losing any that I recall.

I know the military has been weakened by the idiot woke policies of Biden, but it still has advanced capabilities, thankfully.

It's a good thing that government agencies charged with protecting us screw up once in awhile. Otherwise you wouldn't have anything to bitch about in hindsight.
What you fail to acknowledge is all the death and destruction that have been prevented by those entities because all the victories they had are kept under wraps.

If you were alive in '45 and were told there wouldn't be a nuclear war in the next 80 years you would be ecstatic. A moment later you would catch yourself and bitch about why we didn't stop Pearl Harbor.

Meanwhile you support an army major for SecDef. His vast experience managing large organizations, geopolitical issues he reported on at Fox, and the strategies he used to navigate three marriages before he turned 40 will serve him well. He does have experience paying off his accusers should help him out when dealing with foreign leaders.

Lol. We weren't SURROUNDED. Along with the Afghan government we controlled large swaths of the country. We had access to the base from the ground. Be more stupid.

You don't think we have the technology to land aircraft in a hostile environment?

Ground access from where? Afg is surrounded by our enemies.

I don't know what that means. It's about the planes not getting shot down on the way in or out.

We do have the technology to defend against surface to air attacks.......on Air Force One. Military transport planes don't have those defensive capabilities.

A Stinger is a MANPADS. A shoulder fired missle. If you're flying into a air base that's completely surrounded, all it takes to bring down a transport is one local with a stinger. That's why you need to control the area around a base and have sit corridors in and out.

A stinger takes out a plane trying to resupply the base. We bomb the village where it came from. They start lobbing mortars at the base. Before long you have another war. There's are reasons the military doesn't have isolated bases in enemy territory. It's suicide.

Bob, this is where you are confused. We bomb the village it came from, but we also bomb government buildings, storage centers, and the like. This is the meaning of bombing the crap out of them.

I had dinner over the holidays with my W4, retired rank of W5, Ranger, Cavalry friend.
I've talked about him before on here. He retired with 45 years service.
I haven't heard from him in a couple of months and was wondering what he was up to.
Well despite pleas from his wife, he has volunteered to fly M1-8 Helicopters, as a contractor, for the Ukraine Military.
He signed a 1 year, 1 million dollar contract.
I admire his fearlessness and dedication but hope Trump gets some kind of resolution, to that war, before he starts his duties there.

Agree about his courage, but not happy that US taxpayers, as opposed to European taxpayers, are paying him 1 mil to risk his life.

I was thinking the same thing.
The money is hard to turn down but he is doing fine. I wish him the best.

So you now understand why having an airbase completely surrounded by hostile forces is an incredibly stupid idea right? I'm taking your avoidance of the issue as an acknowledgement.

So your solution, like most of MAGA on a variety of issues, is to bomb the crap out of them?

How are you getting the ordinates to the surrounded base? Or are you flying in from another base near Afghanistan? Which one is that?

If you do manage to bomb the hell out of them, what makes you think it will change anything? We bombed the hell out of them for 20 years. How did that work out?

Do you know any of the history of Afghanistan? How many countries have tried to conquer it? Why would more bombs solve the problem when it hasn't before?

Just one more thing. I thought the idea was to get out of there. You're talking about starting another war. Brilliant.

I didn't say it was a great idea. I said it could be done.

Once you are done celebrating Hunter's pardon, check the posts if you think otherwise.

You have no idea who's paying him.
Obviously, I do have an idea. There are three possibilities. US taxpayers, European taxpayers, or some combination. Since he is an American, I think it highly likely that US taxpayers are paying him indirectly by way of Ukraine.

What do you think, Winston?
