Best Purdue uniforms

These were our best uniforms...hands down.

Modernize the uniforms a bit with a larger stripe down the pant leg, gold outline on the lettering, and make the helmet the current one or one side with numbers and other side with P/Pete's hammer....I think that's a win.

These in an all black would look great: Black socks with the gold and white stripes, black pants with inner gold strip and white outline, black jersey with gold numbers/white outline, and the shoulder stripes remain gold in the middle with white on each side. Helmet could be a high glossy black with gold fading railroad tracks and slanted P on the sides.

Maybe a little too modern.

My idea is instead of doing the 1 home game where we wear grey...we turn that into a rotating throwback vs figure concept game. 1 year we wear retro unis (so what we actually wore in a said year) and then the next time we honor that team we take that concept and reinvent it. We should do this when we bring back teams to recognize them for homecoming or special occasions that year.

That way one year we get a new uni and one year we get a true throwback and tie it in to the history.

surprised nobody mentioned this . . .

Those were actually pretty good, for gold jerseys.

Old gold helmets and pants need to be considered in any new scheme Brohm comes up with, imo....I like the all whites with white helmet and most of the all black, black-while-black combos with the black helmet. I miss the large Purdue across the chest of the Everett era and the stripes of this on the Brees era, but the throwback whites/old gold of the first Rose Bowl team were very sharp.

Even.a competent marketer could work a new scheme with our three main colors, old gold, white and black that look sharper than what we have other than the greys we rolled out last year! I guess I am saying most of last year's uniforms were not bad but they certainly could be spetted up!
I'm glad you don't get a vote. The all-whites are the absolute worst look for Purdue. We don't need to have the name Purdue on the jersey, either.

Funny thing is this year's Football poster is in our all white uniforms...I stand by them plus the black uniform a few threads up with PURDUE across the chest is one of our sharpest looks we have had and Brohm had them at WKU too.

Who gives a damn what the poster of one of Hazell's teams shows? Purdue's colors are old gold and black. Most people think they are good colors for football. Black especially - teams that don't even have black in their school colors wear black unis sometimes (OSU, Nebraska, FSU, etc.)

I'm not a huge fan of vegas gold but it looks better than white for pants. I just hate the white helmets too.

Your opinion and you are entitled to it just as I am but the poster was taken this year with this year's players not last year so you might just be wrong on both counts.

The Old Gold is cool if done right. These are OK, but would have to be severely modernized. 18-22 year olds are not going to find these uniforms the least bit cool. That is because they are 31 years old !!! I like us upgrading and modernizing instead of being Penn State with lame-o uniforms. For recruiting, do you think it helps Oregon that they are constantly changing? The kids love it. I agree that no matter what is done, the school colors must be the primary thing. The grey uni's suck - both in Football and Basketball. The only thing worse would be coming out wearing beige - Probably Burke's favorite color that matches his lame personality.

Old Gold used as an accent color to highlight other aspects of the uniform is the way to go...much like the Army uniform I linked above. Having the old gold outline white numbers on a black jersey along with old gold around the neck and possibly as the cow-catchers on the shoulders might be a good look. Just don't make the old gold a focal color of any uniform and it can look sharp. For reference, see the SJSU uniform I have shown below...when you go with way too much yellow...it looks terrible.

that wasn't even remotely the point of the thread.
