I feel some sadness when one of our "adopted sons" leaves the team. Moreso when we didn't really learn much about them while they were here.
To most of us they are just players on the floor. Chess pieces on the board.
Striving to win to keep us fans and backers happy. Almost cliches and ballplayer types more than individuals
Mercenary nature of the game, but still, they're kids.
7' tall, a large MAN. But still a kid in his place in the world.
Did you know his mother died of alcohol poisoning when he was 6? That he and his father both have diabetes? That he says in the first reporting of him about his new school that he strives to be the good person his mother and father talked to him about being.
Just a few bits of info in 2 minutes reading about him moving elsewhere.
Sad.
I wish the best for Will and Cam and Myles and Brian.
Bless you all, and may you have happy and successful lives.
God speed.
