I’m sure it was a heated debate on the best BBQ in Austin which is obviously Franklin’s and Chris wasn’t gonna hear any slander.
He was a Knight protege.
I’ll need to try Franklin’s the next time I am down there.
Wait time was too long last time i was in Austin so we did Black’s instead.
I would feel more cathartic about this if we hadn’t beat them last year. Most of my bitterness about this man evaporated when we did.
Actually mine increased. He made disparaging remarks about Purdue and how the referees gave Purdue the game, even though it was obvious that TX was trying to foul and intimidate us. However, the next game, the refs swallowed their whistles on many borderline calls. And as a result, our team which throughout the season had many foul shots had a sharp decrease and this contributed to why we lost the tournament game.
I feel the same. Not sure that it had an impact on the next game, NCAA officiating is notoriously inconsistent, but it was ridiculous to come in with strategy of fouling on every play and hoping they don't call most of them and then complaining when they call more than you'd like.
Regardless of how much I dislike Beard, I hate to see this.

Feel sorry for the victim but im happy to see some justice served in an abuse case....as long as everything that was stated actually happened.
Putting aside how you may feel about Chris Beard personally, this is just a bad and unfortunate circumstance, IMO. Hope he and his family can get whatever help they need. The process will play out - and we'll see what happens (might be some administrative leave) - it's complicated with the fact that Texas is scheduled to host Rice tonight I think.
Are you kidding? Why would I be happy about domestic abuse being reported? I am not sympathizing with Beard. If he is guilty, I hope he has appropriate consequences.
I think he gets a nice little unpaid vacation but is back on their sidelines next year at the LATEST
I guess it depends how bad it is once we find out all the details. I mean, Juwan Howard punched an opposing coach and barely anything happened to him.
I don’t think that significantly contributed to our loss. I think it was a combination of players overlooking what they thought would be an easy game, and what I will noe call “the Ivey factor” (how we moved away from good team basketball in the second half of the season in favor of Ivey iso ball).
But yeah his whining was pretty annoying.
Yeah, we'd do some pick and roll, but didn't really seem to do any isolation.
Are we not glad that we do not have a guy like him for our coach vs. Matt? He always seemed to me , he would be one to do something such as he got arrested for.

Saw on ESPN that the party involved wants the charges dropped. My guess is he committed an act against his wife and a child/kid saw the action. If, Texas law is like Indiana and in the presence of a child it becomes a felony initial charge.

Only a guess.... I wonder if a child explained it to the police officer, then a report and prosecutor seems enough evidence is there. If so, and true. Beard should be suspended for the year and get help....or fired

Man UT is in a tough spot. They have grounds to fire him but that could nuke your season. Or does he take some time off to go to rehab and blame it on alcohol?
Take time off and get help. Moving forward he'll need it.

Yeah I saw people saying the whole boyfriend story too, which is believable and wouldn't have looked nearly as bad. Rehab might not be bad, saw a tech poster on the national board saying he enjoys his cocaine and alcohol.
This kind of reminds me of Billy Gillespie who went on a downward spiral.
