Any idea when we can expect tickets to go on sale ? Never went to one of these and believe I'm going to take the wife

For the Cancun Challenge packages were available through JPC in the Spring. I would imagine it will be the same for Atlantis.

There was a display set up in Mackey last year with information about Cancun Challenge (right inside doors by section 118). I'd look for that and contact JPC. Hope you are able to go.

Atlantis had some good teams this year. Cancun was okay, but not great. Who else is going to be in Atlantis next year? Is there a link?

Nevermind. Found it. Villanova University, University of Arizona, Purdue University, North Carolina State University, University of Tennessee, Southern Methodist University, Western Kentucky University, and University of Northern Iowa.

Nova and Arizona will be a good challenge. The rest aren't horrible either. Will be a good test for next year's team sans Biggie or even with him for that matter.

Better field and better TV coverage. Good tournament to be in!

Not sure on TV coverage. They play is on that AxisTV channel and that the majority of people don't get. I have the sports package and it isn't included.

Are they switching network coverage? I thought this year games (at least the quarters, semis and the final) were on the ESPN network channels.

They were and that's why I said better coverage. Not really concerned about the play in round. The whole rest of the tournament is on ESPN family. Much higher profile tournament than Cancun.

You're right, some of the 1st round and consolation side of bracket is on AXS. The rest of the 1st round and the winners side of bracket is on ESPN family.

I have Directv with sports pack and AXS is part of that (channel 340). My neighbor has Dish with sport pack and he gets AXS also. Regardless, it's a much higher profile tournament with better teams and you get 3 games in the tournament instead of 2.

I think that was the first time I watched CBSSN....had to search for it on my line-up. I must be really getting older because I didn't even mind Doug Gottlieb doing the games after the initial shock.

CBSSN. Never heard of it until Cancun. I don't get it with dish even though i have dish 120+. The plus allows me to get most sports channels. I refuse to pay any more money for channels like CBSSN or NBCSN to watch less than ten events a year. Tryed to watch the chase in nascar but they put the first four races on a channel nobodys heard of NBCSN and by then I had lost intrest. Don't know about others but if they keep heading in this direction I'll be watching a lot less sports in the furture.

I certainly understand your position. I pay way too much for television!! I have DirecTV and it keeps going up and up. I pay extra for the sportspack so I can get NBCSN and all of the regional sports channels (triathlon coverage) and it gets pretty pricey. I'm a sports nut so I just figure it's part of the cost of my hobbies.

It will be interesting to see how sports are covered going forward. ESPN is streaming so many events now, I wonder if that will become more common and actually going to your "regular" tv channels will be much less?

I think so. The twentysomethings are watching more and more streaming of any topic so that's a good indicator of where it's headed.
