OSU doesn' make playoff.
Any speculation on where we end up now?
I have no idea about the pecking order.
Would love to see Nashville or detroit

In their zest to make money , the BIG10 conference created divisions and added a championship game.

This year by having that championship game, they lost out on receiving twice as much money by having the wrong team win! I've always thought the championship series should only be open to conference champions, but once again money is greater than ethics!

Now we know how the PAC 12 and BIG 12 have felt being left out

Need to simply expand to 10 teams with the top 4 receiving a bye game...start playing the season a week esrlier and start the playoff the week after Thanksgiving. Allows Army/Navy to still have a stand alone game and can play that extra round of games (5v10, 6v9, 7v8) the week after the Army-Navy game, semi-finals and championship game as it currently stands with the CFP. Initial games would be held at either higher ranked site or a neutral site East, Midwest/South, West (East-NC, Midwest-Indy, West-Las Vegas/LA).

Conference Champs (PAC, Big 12, B1G, ACC, SEC) and highest ranked G5 (Mountain West, Sunbelt, AAC, MAC) team gets automatic bid...leaves 4 at large bids.

This year it would be:
Automatic Bids: OSU, Oklahoma, Clemson, Georgia, USC
G5: UCF
At Large: Alabama, Whisky, Auburn, PSU/Miami/Washington

Seeded: #1 Clemson, #2 Oklahoma, #3 Georgia, #4 Alabama gets byes
#5 OSU vs #10 UCF
#6 Whisky vs #9 PSU/Miami/Washington
#7 USC vs #8 Auburn

Probably will end up doing something like that, but then, #11 and #12 will complain about being left out.

Plus, OSU itself set the precedent last year that you don't even have to win your division to make the playoff.
When it comes down to a difficult choice, I disagree with adding a second team from one conference. Especially when the other choice played a tougher schedule and won their conference.

10 is unnecessary. Go to 6 (like NFL conference playoffs) with top 2 getting a bye.
5 autobids to the champions of the PAC, B12, B1G, SEC, and ACC & 1 at-large bid (could go to highest ranked G5 program, in this year, UCF)

I like 8 and have them all be champions of their leagues with no second place finishers! If the MAC was good enough to play in the cotton bowl, they are good enough for a championship series! Have the big 10, sec, PAC 12, big 12, ACC, mac, big west and con-USA conference champs compete for a championship and tell ND to join a conference if they want to participate! If you are second in your conference you are not a champion and shouldn't be allowed to compete for the NCAA championship! Simple. If you want to compete for a championship, you must first be a champion!

Actually because we have 3 teams in NY6 games, I don’t think we lost any $$$. Because even if OSU made it, we would’ve then only had 2 NY6 teams.

looking at several links, the championship series paid $6 million. the next tier was $2.6. Your scenario says we have 3 teams bringing in $2.6 each . I have to believe we would have made at least $3.4 million more if we had 1 team in the championship series and 2 rather than 3 teams in the NY6 games .

MSU lost out to Notre Dame for the Citrus Bowl invitation. I believe Notre Dame is more deserving. But the invitation was supposed to go to a BIG 10 or ACC team, and it went to Notre Dam instead.

The Tax Slayer and Music City bowl is an OR bowl. We would only send one team to one of those bowls.

It's odd about the projections. Was somebody expecting the BIG 10 to have 1 team in the Championship series and 3 teams in the NY6 games as well? or were they planning on MSU going to the Citrus Bowl?

You are TOTALLY contradicting yourself.

In the other thread you bitch and moan about all the money the B1G will lose because we were shut out of playoffs, right? All that silly BS about how None of the bills would get paid...

Please explain how the money we might make from the championship is any “less ethical” than the money from the B1G playoff—

Is it less ethical because there’s LESS of it????

LOL

I believe that ND is treated like an ACC member for bowl selection purposes.
