Got to watch 2025 commit Avery Gordon this evening as Brownsburg took on No. 1 HSE, losing 69-57 at home.

Gordon finished with 26 points on 12-17 shooting, nine rebounds and two blocks in the loss.

Will have a full breakdown in the morning, but here are some quick notes:

The size is real:

It’s not hard to point out Gordon on the court, standing 6’6. She knows how to use her size to her advantage, putting herself in advantages positions down low in particular.

Still a ways to go:

I think it’s important to recognize that Gordon is nowhere near a finished product. She still has two high school seasons to complete before getting to West Lafayette, where she will greatly benefit from the coaching/strength and conditioning she will get.

Single handed:

Gordon has very little help with her Brownsburg team, with nobody else scoring in double figures tonight. The offense runs through her, as it should.

Purdue women’s basketball commit Avery Gordon stands out with 26 point, 9 rebound showing against No. 1 HSE.

Full breakdown of the highly-touted 2025 prospect: (Premium)

Its going to be nice to have a big low post presence again. She should be a game changer in the literal sense of the word for the ladies.

As she continues to improve she’s going to be a handful for anybody in the country. Purdue hasn’t had someone like her in awhile.

Not only is she 6’6 but she seems to have a pretty impressive wing span. I wonder what that measures. As with all posts - very few come to college physically fully developed. Betts struggled her freshman year due to that. Not anymore it appears. Seems like she has all the potential to be very good for us. Impressed with her hands at this age.

She looks like she could be a good one. Very excited to watch her develop over the next couple seasons. She'll provide some size that is sorely needed.
