I haven't seen much of Auburn, but I hear they have some talented athletes and like a lot of Bruce Pearl teams, they put on some tough full court pressure on the opposition. I remember that classic Tennessee game with Etwuan, Hummel and JJ. That Tennessee team had some players and were tough. Remember Kramer's swim move? We had a great team that year and pulled out a tough win.

We handled the pressure against Villanova very well (not toooo many turnovers), but we also didn't really make them pay for their pressure and did our best half court offense with the limited time we had after crossing half court (e.g. even when we don't turn it over, it limits the patience we can have in half court offense and makes us make decisions quicker than we might normally like). Hopefully, we can make them pay, limit turnovers and avoid foul trouble with Biggie and Haas.

It should be a good game regardless because we need more practice/exposure to teams like this since we can't simulate it in practice.

Should be a good game! Hopefully, we can pull it out!

Team depth may come into play for both teams since we both played yesterday and may be on tired legs today.

Not too concerned about making them pay for the full court pressure. Just break it and we can make them pay in the half court. We don't have a team that is very good in the open court so would rather not try to force it and have them make poor decisions resulting in turnovers or bad shots.

Break the press and unless the path to the basket is wide open, set up in the half court and find the big men inside. I doubt Auburn has much interest in guarding us in the half court for a full game.

They looked like crap against TT. I'm sure we'll get their best game though. Value the ball and keep them out of transition offense. We should be fine.

Yes, Purdue has a problem valuing the ball....and Auburn's athletic kids could add to this problem.

It will be a battle of wills between Purdue's halfcourt vs. Auburn's full-court play. In theory, Albrecht, C. Edwards, and Smotherman are all good "additions" in regards to helping beat pressure D. Three of Auburn's four bigs average anywhere from 2.8 fouls per game to 4 fouls per game (Horace Spencer). If Purdue beats their pressure and then goes into their halfcourt play more often than not, Auburn should have some difficulty handling Haas and Swanigan. Purdue just needs to make sure they don't force it all the time and also make sure that some of the guards and wings step up and have good scoring/shooting games.
