At half, up 12 over SIU...

Not following team rules, but will be back for opener according to the announcer.

Harris not dressed. Sloppy as one would anticipate but so impressed by athleticism of Whilby and mature game of Woltman.

Any obvious signs as to why Harris is out - crutches, walking boot, sling,.....eye patch? Hope she's back for the opener.

EDIT - Sorry, posted before I saw Walt's message. Need her as a team leader so hope this is a one time/minor thing.

Agree, looking for a pretty good jump in her production this year. From the stats of this game it appears that the depth is definitely improved. Woltman, Traylor, Farquhar and Diagne all had solid all around games. Overall Purdue had 7 players with 4 or more points and 5 with 4 or more rebounds. Shooting could be better - went 0"fer" on 3 pointers in 2nd half.

Interesting that the players would often position themselves behind the MEN's 3 Pt line rather than the women's. The commentators noted it several times. It may be confusing all year.

Next year the lines are scheduled to once again be the same.

Didn't get to see game and hadn't thought of that issue - possibly explains the shooting % a bit though. Maybe Sharon could take a page from Painter's book - instead of yelling "move", she could yell "move closer". :)

Can't tell much from an exhibition game when you play virtually everyone and a lot for the first time and have Harris out. But this is true:
--For the first time in years, Versyp has impressive depth and experience.
--Whilby will contribute a lot.
--MC, Harris, Traylor and Odem will be great. Farquar will start and was really impressive. This starting line-up is rock solid.
--Diagnu has gotten stronger and way better, best I have ever seen her play.
--Both Moloko and Harmon, who both played a lot are super athletic and handled themselves well.
--Woltman was really impressive and will have a great career at Purdue.
--Stallings will be an effective spot player.
--Boudreau and Hardin may find it hard to get minutes. Not sure why Hardin was not in the game.
--Versyp is still running that patient offense down on the shot clock. Don't know if that will change, but the depth and talent is there to change that now. They were quite aggressive when they could run.
--Will have outstanding D.
--Have a spate of good 3 pt shooters.
--Too may Tos but some of that due to so many combo lineups
--Will be solid at rebounding. Bigger BT teams will not be able to just bully them in the paint.
--This will be the best Purdue team in quite a while.

23 turnovers!!!! too familiar.

I think Fatou may be a star!!! Looked really promising!!
