How arrogant can North Carolina be turning down an NIT invite?
Not arrogance - they are an older team that wanted to be done playing due to an embarrassing season. I don’t blame themHow arrogant can North Carolina be turning down an NIT invite?
How is that not the case? It’s all the NCAAT rejects.I don't appreciate that UNC declining further degrades the NIT, which is a shame. It is ridiculous that the NIT is generally looked upon as a tournament of also-rans when that is plainly not the case.
NCAA rejects does not equal also-rans. Is Texas Southern better than any team in the NIT?How is that not the case? It’s all the NCAAT rejects.
And Rutgers is better than a lot of teams in the tourney.NCAA rejects does not equal also-rans. Is Texas Southern better than any team in the NIT?
Are you sure about that?? They just got beat by Hofstra at home and gave up 88 points. Not a good team. And Rutgers is better than a lot of teams in the tourney.
We beat Hofstra in December by 19 but I think they were missing a starter. Wow, no defense tonight though from Rutgers. Are you sure about that?? They just got beat by Hofstra at home and gave up 88 points. Not a good team.
Except they lost tonightAnd Rutgers is better than a lot of teams in the tourney.
Must’ve been actual basketball instead of full court MMA.We beat Hofstra in December by 19 but I think they were missing a starter. Wow, no defense tonight though from Rutgers.
that was the ream w/ Johm Garrett and Frank Kendrick beat Utah w/ Ticky BurdenRemember in’73 when Purdue won the NIT there was a big pep rally in Mackey Arena that Sunday night after the team flew back in from NYC. It did mean alot more back then. I think you had to finish 2nd in the B1G just to get in the NIT.
Wasn't Parkinson on that team?
Yeah, I live down here. Definitely lots of chemistry issues. Reminds me a bit of those Terone/Ronnie Johnson Purdue teams where the team just didn't mesh. Hubert Davis seems like a good guy, so I hope he figures it out.I've been hearing whispers that there is a lot more than bad basketball happening with that program. Lots of team chemistry issues, starting with the guards.
