I am blown away that Arizona State is undefeated, won at Kansas, and is #3 in the country. They were an absolutely awful basketball team when we played them last year, and they didn't look much better when I watched them late in the year. I haven't watched their recruiting, but something must have clicked. Has anyone watched them?

Most of their personnel is the same from last season, so maybe Hurley's really coaching them up? It's interesting.

They have a freshman, Romello White, averaging 15 pts and 9 rebounds. In a lesser role, Mickey Mitchell a transfer from O$U.

There could be scandal written all over this. There should be an NCAA investigation. How could they do this with the same players? There must be some diet supplement involved. Maybe it's just a Nested Do-Loop as data never sleeps (for all you really old programming geeks who remember punch cards). This was all T.I.C. as you know my attempts (not always successful) at humor sometimes*

IDK. They are getting a ton of mileage out of that Kansas win. Other than that game, their schedule has not been terribly daunting. And honestly, that Kansas team is a little rough around the edges.
KenPom has ASU at #29 and BPI has them at #25. Expect some regression in the W/L column. Good team, but not Top 5.

The conference isn't as daunting right now either with UCLA, Oregon, Arizona, and USC maybe under-performing so far.....they are high-scoring like Oklahoma. Could be a wild-card down the stretch....their games with the Wildcats should be entertaining.

Don't forget who the ASU coach is... they are getting the Dook treatment by the media in my opinion. ASU is playing well, and they have 2 impressive wins. They beat Xavier on a neutral court, and of course @Kansas (who has literally one front court player right now). The rest of their schedule has been very pedestrian... and at home. Personally, I don't think they are worthy of this meteoric rise in the polls.
