Or are there other things to think about? Things no one is talking about today, but I am sure will start coming up soon. None of us know how far reaching this whole scandal goes and how long it will take to resolve. My personal opinion is that it is going to pretty bad for CBB but not devastating.
I think most on here feel the same way I do, kind of like we are being vindicated a little bit. Meaning our program is clean (and I sure hope it is) and we have been dealing with a stacked deck. It will be very interesting to see if Kansas gets caught up in this crap due to them eliminating Purdue twice recently in the NCAA’s.
So with the assumption that we are clean, what’s next? Let’s just think about that. Say 6 to 10 head coaches get taken down at historically BB heavy schools. That means 6 to 10 or more coaches will need to be hired. These are high profile school with name recognition and reputation. How do you restore your image if you are such a school? You go out and get a seasoned, above average coach that is known to run a clean ship.
Who fits that description? I can think of one guy right off the top of my head. His first name is Matt and his last name start with a P. As this starts to shake out should Purdue keeping a close eye on the situation in the event they need to sweeten such coach’s compensation? What you say?
